Okay, I admit it! I am a DVC snob

So last trip after 5 nights at BWV and 7 nights at OKW, Hurricane Rita decided to extend our trip. We had to stay at All Star Sports. My little DVC snob children would say " better than a hurricane " every time we got back to the room.

Now our next trip we have to stay at Coronado Springs for the first 3 nights because of my son's chess tournament. That is slumming it enough for us. We are thinking about adding a trip down for Star Wars' weekend in June but I just told DH it would have to be in a studio. We are almost out of " my points " so now he doesn't know if he wants to go.

I think all of of us blessed to be able to afford DVC. To those who stay at the 'values' they are blessed as well.

I don't think 'slummin' or 'what are the poor folks, etc...' speak kindly of some DVC members characteristics. Just my opinion

I too think that we are truly blessed to be able to have DVC and take our family and extended family. However, I too, also have difficulty going back. Prior to DVC we always stayed offsite. Now if DH suggests it I say "never again!" Every where that we stay we always compare it to "our DVC home."

I agree completely, and said so in a previous post. Not so many years ago all we could afford was off site, luckily the magic does not ask for a credit reference ;) , no matter where we stay we still enjoy our trip. Just now we have been blessed and own a piece of the magic, I don't think any less of anyone who chooses not to for whatever reason (if you go to disney we have something incommon despite any other differences. :goodvibes

Oh please, do grow a sense of humor. Nobody meant any disrespect to anyone who isn't lucky enough to own DVC. The whole thread was about how happy we are to be DVC owners and how much we love the resorts and the experience we get there. It's gotten so you can't say anything on these boards anymore without somebody getting all offended and judgemental.

Stayed at Pops in May, no more for us either DVC or moderates.

I wasn't trying to be judgemental, just stating my opinion and I am not trying to offend you. As one person said we all have something in common, and just being a WDW is great. :grouphug:

We're military, so our pre-DVC stays were primarily at SOG. All the same, I much prefer DVC. Once you've stayed in a 1-bedroom, there's no going back. I have to confess, I've never stayed in a studio.

BTW the sun was shining and the temp was perfect yesterday morning on the way to church. My DS said it felt like WDW. :teeth:

I wasn't trying to be judgemental,

Then why bring up your concern about DVC members "characteristics". You were making a judgement about the character of DVC members. Of course it's your opinion, but it's also a judgement.

Again, this was supposed to be a light hearted thread about how the quality of DVC has "spoiled" us. I don't know for sure, but I would suspect that we all work pretty hard to be "spoiled" for those short periods when we visit. As a single person who makes less than the average salary of a teacher in my area, DVC is a real luxury for me and a dream come true. And yes, I do feel like a rich person when I stay there and that is part of what I like about it.
