;Aloha,

DH didn't say no, so got the tickets. But now there are six of us, my daughter-in-law (who has never been out of the islands) is going too. So we have 3 adults and 3 kids. Wanted to stay at the Fairfield Inn because they had kids eat free at Millies with one paying adult. But they do not allow 6 in the room. I am checking out suites at Park Vue and Park Inn, they have free breakfasts and are close by. Also will be considering Desert Inn Suites. Any others???

We will be able to go to the parks June 6-12(Friday through Wensday)and we will be doing it all-3 days DL, one day each Universal, Knotts Berry and Sea World. Any suggestions on what when? When do California schools let out? When is grad night? What days are most crowded?

Mahalo for your assistance,
Donna

Aloha,

I'm from Northern California--most schools in San Jose are out during that week--my kids get out on June 13th--we are going to be at DL June 15th!

It seems like most schools are getting out by mid June. A lot of California schools go year-round too. We are planning on fairly large crowds--but we're still happy to be going!

As far as grad nites--I think most will be done by the time you are going.

Have fun!

You might check some rooms at the Best Western Park Place Inn.

We stayed there with 3 Adults and 4 Kids the last time we went about 18 months ago and, though it could be a little cramped, it worked out fine for our 4 days. The "suite-type" room we were in had 2 double beds plus a couch that pulled out into another double, all for around $100-120 a night.

Just a thought. :)

Kids get out depending on the different schools. I believe that most of them will be getting out the week of the 17th. My ds graduates on the 8th, but dd will be in school till the 20th.

I just called Disneyland, and was told that Grad Nites are usually held on Thursdays, and DL shows to close @ 8pm on the 6th. She said for further information on Grad Nites, call (800) 232-7980 (I just tried, and there was no answer).

The rascals & I are looking forward to seeing you again. :)

Just my 2 cents, but I would pace yourself and go to Disney on Monday and Tuesday and then one other day. Check to see when the good shows and parades are because you might want to catch those or the fireworks. It's been a few years since I've been during the summer so someone else might know. Many kids will be out, but weekends are usually busier than weekdays. Also, would think that Sea World if you plan on driving from Anaheim will have traffic during the week so a weekend might be better for that. Seaworld is a full day so plan on it!

Also, Downtown Disney would be fun if you have some free time.

Anyone else have suggestions?

Jenn

Mahalo Sue, Floydian, Mary Jo and Jennifer,

I really appreciate your taking time to offer suggestions.
According to the official web site, there are no parades in DL while we are there, and only the electrical one at night on the weekends at DCA???? I have never been to DL when they didn't have a parade. What happened to the parade?

I heard that Splash Mountain and Peter Pan rides are closed for months, but it is not posted on the web site for that period. Does anyone know?

Aloha,
Donna

Donna,

I just returned from Disneyland on Monday, April 1st. Peter Pan was open, but Splash Mountain will be closed until the end of May! They had a parade every night and fireworks every night. Fantasmic was not going. We went to Knotts Berry Farm, which was my children's favorite park about 4 years ago, and NEVER AGAIN! It was filthy dirty everywhere, the bathrooms were disgusting and the employees ........well just our experience. I wouldn't waste my money.

When you go over to DCA, don't miss BLAST! It's very good. And when you go on Soaring over California, try to be on the front row. It is the best, otherwise you see people's feet hanging down and it kind of ruins the effect.

It's just too early for the official listing of events at that time. We'll actually be there during the same timeframe as you (June 6th-15th) and I'm confident that there will be a full compliment of parades and fireworks.

Sure would be nice if Splash Mountain and Fantasmic are open by then too.

crosses fingers

Only 64 days until we get there!!
