Never a dumb question....

KTTW stands for Key To The World card. That is what you get issued when you go to the terminal. It gets you into your stateroom & is used to charge things to your account while on board. Also gets you off/on the ship when in the various ports.

Treat this card as you would a regular credit card!!!

KTTW- Key to the World card .... as the name implies, this card functions as...

1) your stateroom key
2) ID for getting on and off ship
3) room safe key
4) onboard charge card linked to your account

in addition, once you are issued this card at check-in, you will know your dining rotation, as it is printed right on it

Here's a picture of the Key to the World Card:

As Alexandrew stated, your dining rotation and lots of other info is printed on the card. For instance, the card designates you as an ADULT or CHILD; shows which table you'll be sitting at in each of the dining rooms (Table: 54); and also shows the last two digits of your year of birth (75).

There is also some other coded information on the card. Anyone know that the "N" and "S3" may stand for?

The cards are actually the same cards that are used at Walt Disney World since the ships are owned by the Walt Disney World Company.

From what I recall, S3 is code for the third dining rotation, or LAPLAPL.....APL is S1, and PLA is S2....

None of our cards from the past 3 cruises has as much info as the card you pictured. Could that be because we start with the land portion first? Or would that having nothing to do with it?

None of our cards show the dining rotation or table number. I remember a thread about this many months ago where people were talking about this info being on the card & I was really confused - especially because I was looking at my cards & didn't see what they were seeing. Now I 'see' why.

I bet you're right. I would guess that the PCs and printers at WDW are not set up with the same format as the PC system and printers at the port. Thus, you don't have all of the additional cruise information printed on your KTTW card because you started out with the land portion.

I'm surprised that they don't upgrade and make everything standard though.

It should prove to be interesting to see how they're going to handle the cruises out of California. Since DCL will only be "borrowing" a terminal owned by the Port of Los Angeles, I wonder if they will bring machines from the Disneyland Resort or if they will just pre-print the KTTW cards for the cruise.

on our first cruise we were told the S# was the dining room section which didn't make sense to me since there's only one table #54 why did it matter what "section" you were in....but then if your dining rotation is on the card (LAPLAPL) why do they have to denote the dining rotation # (1, 2, or 3)?? Go figure

Since there are 3 "dining server groups" I wonder if that may be the designation for which group is doing that rotation (S1, S2, S3) and would be referenced if someone is requesting a specific server or head waiter?

If I remember correctly, on our cruise, these were listed as F1, F2, F3, S1, S2, S3.
"F" meaning First Seating, and "S" meaning Second Seating. We had S something, but the person in front of us in line had F something.
