Okay, Disneyland Hotel or Paradise Pier?

I think I've now narrowed it down to the Disneyland Hotel or Paradise Pier (after thinking of the GCH, I just don't want a small room). Does the Paradise Pier have rollaway beds? Depending on specials I might even be able to get two rooms at PP.

What are the benifits of the Disneyland Hotel vs the Paradise Pier? I want to experience Disneyland, and have some Disney and California magic.

:)

Thanks!

Personally I prefer the Disneyland Hotel as the rooms are bigger and the doors open up to a railing so you can sit at the edge and have a breeze blow in. I enjoy the decore and the grounds of the hotel are beuatiful.
The Paradise Pier hotel is a bit more adult. The room decore is less fancyful but nice. There is no balconey or door (or window) to open up. It has virtually no gorunds to it though you can visit Disneyland Hotel next door. BUT if you get a Themepark view you will have a incredible view of DCA.
Both are good hotels.

I've never stayed at the Disneyland Hotel.
I was nervous about Paradise Pier after reading reviews, but tried it anyway since it is the cheapest of the DL resorts. I was impressed! The theming is subtle, but it's still there. The room was clean and adequate which is all I really need in a hotel. I had an upper level theme park view of California Adventure that was amazing! And the private entrance to CA is nice. It's a longer walk to DL and DD, but I didn't have any kids with me so that wasn't a factor.
Other people might want more, but I was very happy with PP and I'll be staying there again in a couple weeks.

I've stayed in a king room that had a sofa bed. We also asked for a crib for our little guy and the room was fine for our family of four. I've also stayed in a double queen room that had the 2 beds but no sofa; just a table + 2 chairs plus one more chair & ottoman. I believe they charge more for the rooms on the CA side. Both time's I've stayed there I got a $99 rate on Travelocity and I had a view of the parking lot when it was obvious the hotel wasn't sold out; they wouldn't upgrade if you didn't pay for it. But the hotel was fine.

Thanks for the reply. :) We would need bedding for 5 (there are only four of us, though), so would it be possible to get a king, sofa bed, and rollaway? Or, two queens and a rollaway?

Thanks! ;)

We've stayed at the PP twice in the last couple of months (March and June) We have 5 in our family-mom, dad, ds (10), dd (7) and ds (5). The rooms had two w\queens and a chair that made up into a nice twin bed.

We have really enjoyed the PP. While it's true the theming is more subtle, sometimes it;s nice to have a break from everything Disney. My kids like the glass elevator.

The pool is rather small, but we tended to use the DH pool instead.

Be sure and eat at the GC at the Whitewater Rapids place (near their pool) It's nice food, quick, and an easy walk over form the PP

hi, we just stayed at the PP. this past june,we had 2 queens a twin chair bed and a rollaway bed- still had plenty of room! It is a very nice hotel the staff is very freindly, hope this helps! goofy4mickey48:)

I can't help but be partial to what is now known as the Paradise Pier Resort. I've spent MANY splendid weeks there when it was the Disney Pacific Hotel. Staff was VERY friendly - and the grounds seemed to by MUCH quieter than the Disney Resort. If I had kids, they probably would have liked the Disney Resort much better because of the atmosphere.... good luck ;-)

Neither of these hotels were built by Disney.. DLH was built by Wrather and PP use to be an Emerald Hotel, then Pan Pacific Hotel until Disney bought it... PP is alot closer to DCA if you plan on going there alot and it's fun to watch the Electical Parade if you have that view and have a high floor.. I like the DLH better though cause Neverland pool is right there.. You can use it if you're staying at PP too but it's along walk, especially wearing a bathing suit walking through a long parking lot... They just remodeled DLH too and have lots of Mickey touches in it now. (bedspreads, bathroom items, glow in the dark pixie dust along the boarder, etc) My favorite is GC but it is alittle more pricey.. If you have an AP you can get PP for $89 DLH $109 and GC $149
