Question for trick-or-treaters or parents of trick-or-treaters: What do you think about getting a smalll bag of chips (Sun Chips, Lay's regular chips, Cheetos, Doritos, Fritos- we have them all:)) when trick-or-treating?

I say kids would like to get a bag of chips, since they end up with so much candy. My husband says kids would much rather get candy. He thought I was joking when I said I was thinking of giving out bags of chips this year. He doesn't want to be known in the neighborhood as "the house that gave out chips".

So, what do you think? If I get more replies saying "yes" to the chips, my husband is buying dinner tonight. If I get more replies saying "no" to the chips, dinner is on me.:)

At least it isn't rocks. :rotfl: I see no problems with chips.

My kids would love chips and would probably eat the chips first because it would stand out in the sea of candy. Good idea!

wow that's a toughie. I think from a kids point of view it would depend on what you get more often at home. If chips are a treat.. then i'd give you the vote, but i do think kids look forward to candy.

well, i took a poll of 3 of my 4 kids and well... they all said candy. And they get probably an even amount of chips and candy at home.

i would say chips. my DD doesn't eat a lot of candy or chips, and would be thrilled with either one, but since she gets a bucketful of candy on halloween, she would probably eat the chips first, especially if we'd been out ToT a while and she was hungry, lol.

Why would someone give rocks? :confused3

I have 3 boys sitting in my living room now. Age 8, 9, and 11. Two voted yes for chips, one said he just wants candy.

My kids would love chips. In general, they prefer the "good stuff" (m&m's, reese's, snickers, etc), but I agree that they would like the novelty in that sea of candy. :thumbsup2 They would absolutely prefer chips to tootsie rolls and suckers.

You should have had a poll. Then you won't have to do a count.

Yes, I think chips would be fine. :thumbsup2

When I was a kid, our next-door-neighbor owned a company which distributed chips. They always gave out chips on Halloween. We always hated it.

So as a former kid who got them, I vote No.

It took me three years to learn how to post pictures. It would take me another three years to learn how to post a poll.:rotfl2: Computer skills are not my strength.:upsidedow

My husband says "thank-you". He knows he's losing so far.:rotfl:

I do not participate in Halloween, but I vote for the chips at least you can throw them in for their lunch. Hope you get a great dinner. Is he buying or cooking?

as long as they were good chips I know my boys would love it!:thumbsup2

No sun chips etc though~ I can't pay anyone to those in my house

Yes to the chips!

I have one neighbor who never gives out candy. What they give varies each year, but in the past we have gotten: Snack Pack puddings, Individual Jellos, Granola Bars, Chips, Juice Boxes, Pretzels.

My kids are always thrilled
