But, after our recent cruise on the Carnival Jubilee, we came home and changed our 4 day cat 3 to two connecting 7 day cat 10's. We discovered on the Jubilee that we were only in the room to sleep and shower. Any other time, we were on the deck or watching a show.

We felt we'd much prefer an interior for a longer trip than a suite for about 1/2 the length of cruise time.

Besides, my step-son decided to join us and we felt that 2 connectings, one for the guys and one for the girls, might be better. There will be 6 of us now!:)

never would I call you crazy after downgrading from a Cat 6 last year to a Cat 9 this year. The $400+ will be spent on extra activities on board or excursions.

We have two little ones (they were just turned 5 and 3 last year) and they napped every day. Instead of sitting on the verandah hanging out (as so many said they do), we either napped with them (it was glorious) or one of us napped and the other roamed the ship, hung out on Deck 4 chairs, exercised in the gym, etc.

I bet we used that verandah 3 times in total. I'd rather have the $$ and a BIG window!

And you definitely did a smart thing going to the 7 day!!

Not crazy! Smart! If you are not getting your money's worth in your room, then don't pay for it.

Enjoy your extra cash and the longer cruise!!

We had an ocean view room on the Jubilee and never opened the curtain! WE JUST DIDN'T HAVE THE TIME!!:smooth:
