Hi Guys-How ya all doing today! I have made my first attempt to sell a page kit on ebay! I still have that digital camera which I borrowed to take pics of my layouts so I figured I would try the ebay thing and see how difficult it is to get all set up with them. Suprisingly enough it was pretty easy! The only thing that has me down is that camera I'm using-the pictures are not very good-it is only like 1 megapixel or something and I don't really have any expereince using it-but I know feel confident in starting to think about buying one down the road as I know I could figure it out if I had a manual and stuff! Anyways I just wanted to share my experience! I don't think the kit will sell as the picture really doesn't show it properly, you can check it out at

Grover, great work! But you are right, that cameras "just not happening". LOL I know the supplies you used -- it must be gorgous!

BTW - I don't think it's the mega-pixel problem in this case. I have only a 1.3 megapixel (Olympus D450 zoom)-- and take all our pics with it (although we are looking to upgrade). I just think it's an icky digital camera someone loaned you (sorry). It seems to be having problems with close-ups & indoor lighting. Alot of digitals have problems with indoor lighting. Do you have any software to try to tweek the colors or sharpen it???

Also, if you are new to digital cameras, you have to be really steady with them -- no shake.

Good luck. I'm SURE it will sell. Anyone who knows the supplies you used from your description -- KNOWS how beautiful it is. :)

Good luck with your selling! I've never sold anything on e-bay but people have told me some of the crazy things they have sold and it seems everything goes. I'm sure with such nice items that you have they'll go no problem. Let us know how it goes.

grover,
You are correct. The camera has not done your page kit justice. I know they are great pieces. I have a small digital camera that I bought to play with. It takes great outdoor shots but really bad indoor photos. Good luck. I'll keep checking back to see how it's going.

LOL-Your right my talent definately does not lay in taking digital pics! It is to bad because the color doesn't show up how it should! The Sharon Ann collection papers are so gorgeous but you'd never know it looking at my pic! Oh well, gave it a try - at least now I know how easy to get your pics up and put on websites or ebay, never know mabey in the future I'll be able to do it and have it look good to!! Thanks for checking it out you guys!

Your set looks really nice! Good luck with it!! I've sold paper piecings and page kits on ebay for over a year, and one suggestion I have is to start your listing price a little higher. From experience (and lots of time spent discussing selling paper piecings and kits on a few yahoo ebaypaperpiecings groups) the ones that start with a really low list price don't seem to sell as well. For a set that has a topper, tags and matted poem, they usually have a start price of around $4 to $5 (U.S). Also you usually have lots more hits when you put the 2 words --paper piecing-- in the listing title, even if there isn't an actual paper piecing...a lot of the page kits are found under paper piecing just because they are matted on cardstock etc. (If you just have paper piecing in the title everytime someone does a search your kit will come up and you won't have to pay a double listing fee). One last tip -the best time to list is either Sunday evening or Tuesday evening ....auctions that end on Thursdays don't do as well, and 7 day auctions work the best. Hope that helps a little ...good luck!:D

SnowWhite, Thanks for all the tips!
There are all these little things that you only learn thru time! I will keep note of it for next time! Thanks for tip about what to list it as,I couldn't find a page kit category only kit so it is probably in the wrong area! It has been a good learning expereince, if anyone else has any tips please post them here! SnowWhite do you have any scrap sale up for auction right now? You do wonderful work,I would love to see it when you put it up,please give us the link!

Thanks

I don't have any listed right now, I'm working on some so I can have several made before I quit my job at the end of the month, and then I'll be listing them full time :) I have changed my user name now too on ebay so that I can have a place to list just paper piecings (so my kids can have their own user names to order their video game things too:rolleyes: ) . Good luck on your auction!
