I just booked for three studios, consecutive dates, at 3 different resorts at less then the 7 month window and had absolutley no problem. SSR, AK AND BCV starting July 11. Last year I had to be waitlisted, however, we went a week earlier. I guess I am concerned that AKV was easy because no one wants to stay there because of the construction?? But BCV?? Any ideas?? Has anyone stayed there recently? Was the construction a major disturbance??

I'd say it's because part of your stay last year was during the July 4th period.

FWIW, we had no trouble getting a BCV studio for May 07 about 5 months out.

Actually, our vacation started on the 6th last year. We used to go on the fourth every year, because of the way the 4th fell in 07 we went later. Now we will always go that time, big difference in the crowds!! We loved it.

I just booked a week starting July 3rd at the BCV, could not believe when she said it was available.

I was also able to book a 1 bdrm at BCV for the 2nd week of July at the 7 month window which I was surprised how easy it was to get. ;) Never stayed there so hopefully all is well. :wizard:

People here have said that DVC isn't hard to get into during the summer months because of heat and high point values. I am surprised that BCV is available for July, but if you had waited until March to book, it probably wouldn't be available then. I booked 3 consecutive days at VWL in June about 3 weeks ago, and was told that one of the days had only 3 studios available, and we needed 2, plus a dedicated 2 bedroom. So, it's filling up. I suppose gas prices could be a factor, but we did travel 2600 miles over the Christmas holidays to visit family by car, and there were plenty of drivers on the road with us.

I am just hoping it was just like it was last year. After going 4th of July for many years, the crowds were horrible. The second week is a little better. Especially in the heat!!

We have been to WDW many times in the summer, but always end of june and last 2 weeks of August. We are NOT park commandos (use the go to the park that had EE the day before strategy) The heat and crowds have never bothered us but i hate waiting until end of summer to go because then we all look forward to that and kind of "mentally" waste the rest of the summer!:rotfl: this year i would really like to try end of July. Are the crowds significantly worse as compared to late June/August??? TIA

The end of Aug is the slowest time of the summer....

End of june and july should be about the same.

It is usually the weeks around 4th of July that are so busy. It depends on where the 4th falls. The week after the 4th last year was like a mass exodus. No waiting time for checking in and rooms ready at both resorts we stayed at. (split stay)

Are they doing construction at BCV??? I was able to book a 2br BCV for 5 nights in late July at my 7 month window.

I hope not or I may be trying to change my reservation. Although, that might be why it was so easy to book. If anyone knows if there is any construction going on, please let us know.
