Anyone stayed in a hotel in downtown Cincinnati? Or in the Cincinnati area?? I need opinions and advice please!!! :) We're going for a long weekend... doing the aquarium, King's Island, etc, and have no idea where to stay. A lot of the downtown hotels are available at really cheap rates... so I'm wondering what's wrong with them?? ;) We're also looking at hotels near King's Island.

Thanks!!!!

Last year we stayed at King's Island Resort. It was very convenient to the park but we weren't impressed with the hotel.:sunny:

We stayed in the Hyatt downtown with an excellent Hotwire deal. The hotel was great, but it seems that downtown is not very conenient to Kings Island.

If you want Kings Island, Blue Ash usually has some really good priceline rates. We have stayed downtown before, but unless you are going downtown or to a ball game, I would stay closer to Kings Island. There are also several hotels close to Kings Island, but we have only stayed at the Kings Island Inn. Nothing to brag about, but it is close.

Downtown would be convenient to the aquarium but not to Kings Island. Also, for weekends downtown Cincinnati is pretty deserted unless a game is going on. I think you also have to pay parking at the hotels. There is one hotel right down from the Aquarium called Comfort Inn. You could walk to the aquarium from there if you liked. As for Kings Island I am not familiar with the hotels in that area, but I think the hotels in Blue Ash would put you between the aquarium and Kings Island. We were at Kings Island today. It was fun, but around noon was getting busy. Do you plan on doing other things besides the 2 you mentioned? That could decide which area to stay in.

Thanks for the help! :)

Right now we are looking at hotels downtown mainly because the priceline rates are so low for the Westin, Hyatt, Hilton, Millenium, etc, etc. The pictures and descriptions online look great, and we really don't mind driving a little ways to King's Island... we're going to be doing other things like the aquarium, shopping, etc.

There are tons of hotels around King's Island, but they are more in the 2 star category.

Keep the advice coming!!! :wave2:

Hey Dan :wave2: I'm sure we'll be back up there soon. I need to visit my college roommates, I haven't been up since September. I've got a friend who's flying in from CA for a wedding and I think we're going to try and meet up... I just love Chicago. ::yes::
