Ok Who is up for a 6 week challenge?

I have done very well so far today. Ate a breakfast burrito this morning, and just snacked on a granola bar this afternoon since I really haven't been hungry the rest of the day. We're having a ladies dinner at church tonight, though, so I'm really going to have to be self-disciplined! The crowning moment for today though.....I did 2 miles today on the track.....AND ACTUALLY RAN ONE OF THE MILES! I was very excited for myself. :hyper:

I am atkins again. I had a bad winter and need some quick results.

Excercising again, but need to do more. I do 30 minutes in the mornings on my little step. Just up and down for the full 30 and I break a good sweat. 2 times a week to an aerobics class if I can make it there.

I feel like the pillsbury dough chick....all soft and mushy. Not to mention I have a wonderful summer wardrobe from last year that no longer fits.....ugh!!!!:(

I need this challenge and some support.

Today I had an egg beaters omelet, and sausage for breakfast.

Lunch will be chicken salad, just chicken and mayo.

Diet Rite soda for a drink

1 oz cheese for a snack

Gotta figure out dinner yet.

wish me luck please!!!!

I need 5 off before the WDW trip on May 13th...

Hi,
Yesterday went well. Got in all my water. Did the one mile WATP and took a 30 minute walk.

Goofitup- good job running the one mile! I have always had trouble running a mile even when I was in good shape. For some reason breathing through my nose while I run burns, I think it is probably allergy related or something. Sorry to ramble. Any way Great Job! :D

well I went to my first ww meeting last night and I think that will be relaly good for me! Im doing with 2 other friends so I think together we can conquer the beast!

I have come a long way towards my mental health goals too. I feel a lot better and I have more self esteem.

Sounds like everyone is doing really well!

Checkin in for yesterday. Got in all my water. Did a little exercise. I also went to a local fair and didn't eat any of the goodies they had even though they smelled so good. :D

Hey Gang! It's me and it's my weigh-in day.
I lost two more pounds! That's a total of 22 pounds lost since I started.
I've been doing a lot of WATP -
Mon. - 3 miles (What was I thinking, I was in pain after.)
Tue. - 2 miles (Better for me I think)
Wed. - 1 mile (I was too tired to continue)
Soo, just this week I have done 6 miles so far. I think the 2 mile is right where my comfort level is.
I have been drinking all of my water and I'm following food points pretty good EXCEPT, I haven't been using any flex points. That's bad I know. I might have to go to a movie and have popcorn (but we'll order a medium without butter!) I need to work on having a better breakfast every day. My big problem is late afternoon and early evening, I get the munchies BIG time! I have been snacking on things like puffed wheat, melba toast and carrots. I'd like to find a good snack that will really fill me up so that I don't feel so hungry at this time of day. Does anyone have any ideas?
Well, that's my check -in. Good Luck to all! I hope that you all have positive results this week.

I got my walking/running in Wednesday (2 miles) and did about 1 1/2 miles yesterday with DH. It was a more leisurely walk, but it was a BEAUTIFUL evening and I felt so great while we were out! I've been eating well, drinking tons of water, and have only had one Coke this week.

Naisy68 - Way to go on all that walking. I had the same problem last week with over-exerting myself one day and having to back off some for the next couple of days. Just keep getting out and going....that's what's important!

mommyflower - Your self control is amazing! There is no way I could go to a fair and not eat the foods. I just have to stay away!

binny - The mental health 'stuff' is so much easier when you feel like you're doing something good for yourself, isn't it? Way to go!

Checking in for yesterday. I'm not sure if I got in all my water because my DS and I were out and about all day. I got a twenty minute walk in. I had planned to go longer, but at one of the houses down the street I walk on, they were doing some landscaping work and something smelled terrible. It made me feel sick so I had to turn around and head for home. Have a good day! :wave2:

I'm up for it too. I have not been motivated at all since returning from all my Disney buffets in March. On Monday I plan on going back to the gym and starting to eat right. I was wondering what works for everyone because I have done Atkin's before and it does work but I just want to try the eating healthy way- can you really drop pounds by decreasing your calories and increasing your exercise?

Also, which board will eveyone be posting there progress on? I am new to navigating these boards.

Linda

momor2minnies,
Welcome to DIS and WISH. There is info here http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=437854
about the WISH challenge.
Basically we support each other in working to become healthy or staying healthy. This includes weight loss and eating right. We support whatever way of eating you decide works for you. I was doing my own low carb plan, but I hit a plateau so I have decided to try something different for a little while. You could try reading some of the journals and other posts to see what you might like to do. Of course you can always ask lots of questions we all will try to help the best we can.
As far as posting our progress, there is usually a thread started on Sundays that is called something like WISH check in for 4/25. There we post how we did for that week whether it is a gain, loss, or you maintained. If you weigh in on a thursday you can checkin on that day.
This thread you posted on is a mini challenge. We started a six week challenge back on 4/5. On this challenge we decided to pick a few things we wanted to try to change in six weeks. We each try to post everyday to say how things are going. There are lots of mini challenge around WISH and you are welcome to join whichever ones look good to you.
I hope this helps. I know it can be a bit confusing when you first look at our WISH board, but you get the hang of it pretty quickly.
:wave2:

Checking in for the last few days.
I was bad on the weekend.:(
But that's over and I'm back op. I lost 1 pound this week. I did well with my water on Mon & Tues. I got my exercise in on Tues.
I hope everyone is doing well!:D

Hi guys and a special welcome to Linda!

I've done very well over the past week or so. I'm sorry I haven't had a chance to check in. Weigh in day was Sunday and I'm down 1.5 pounds which brings my total to 53 pounds. I even went out and bought a full length beveled mirror so I can see myself the way other people do. It's an eye opener but I can see the progress I have made so far and am happy with it.

Linda - you might want to consider either reading through some of the journals on the journal board or starting your own. I find it helps so much to keep one. I do the South Beach diet. I have found that just cutting back or trying to eat in moderation does not work for me. I need a program, one with flexibility but a program nonetheless. We love the foods we eat and the progress me and DH are making is just great! We have lost over 100 pounds between us in a little less than 5 months. I also work out with the FIRM videos and we have a FIRM challenge where we basically check in with each other daily with our exercise routines. It's fun.

This is a great place to come for motivation and encouragement to get the weight off. Please let us know which program (if any) you decide to do.

Hey guys,
Sounds like people are doing well. I haven't checked in for a few days, but all is going well. Water, diet and increased exercise. My scale hasn't moved in several days, by TOM is here so hopefully I will see a big drop in a few days. Keep up the good work.

Deb

Ok, Here we go again - Today was my weigh -in day. I'm down another pound and now WW has lowered my points allowed to 22. I feel like I'm being punished for losing weight, LOL. I'm sure I'll be able to handle it.
I've been trying to use more of my flex points, that's going OK. I'm only using about 10-15 of them a week though. Is that bad? I've been using WATP pretty regularly. I try to make myself do at least one mile a day but I've been doing the two mile every other day basically. I've been really tired lately. My appetite has been increasing too. I'm thinking it's because TOM is coming around the corner. The water intake is going well but that's never been a problem for me.
Good Luck to all of you!

Hello everyone on this fine day in Vermont
I spent a lot of time outside today with my kids. It was beautiful and I fit into my new smaller shorts. My diet is going excellent. No cheating. Water intake is great and being outside more I have been getting much more exercise. Spring has put me in a great mood and I want to be fit and enjoy every minute of it.

I haven't posted in a while because, honestly, I wasn't doing very well this week. I was absolutely terrible over the weekend. Monday was an ok day - no actual exercise, but we spent 8 hours at work cleaning out a nasty storage building. I'm counting that because we were having to move lots of heavy boxes, clean, set up shelving, etc. It was physical work! Tuesday I didn't exercise because I was feeling bad from all the gunk I had inhaled in that building Monday. Wednesday I did do some walking - about 1.5 miles. Yesterday I didn't walk, but we did do about an hours worth of yardwork when we got home which was some physical activity. I'm posting this morning, though, because, even though I wasn't getting in all my walking this week, I decided yesterday to try on a skirt/top to wear to work that I had bought a few months after I got out of college. Guess what.....it fit and I wore it and got lots of compliments! One of my co-workers told me she could really tell I was slimming down! HURRAY!

A little motivation goes a long way. I brought my walking shoes to work so I can do my walking at lunch today!

Checking in. I have been doing well with drinking my water. I have exercised twice this week. I'm hoping to get some exercise today. I have a busy weekend coming up. It is my DH's 10 year high school reunion. He went to a military school and the campus is very hilly, so I will be getting lots of uphill walking in. It is a three day event, but we are going Sat & Sun. Have a great weekend everyone!:D

I weighed myself this morning and I have lost 9 of the 10 pounds that I set for my 6 week goal. I am excited. 1 more pound and I will not only meet my 10 lb goal, but I will have lost a total of 40 lbs since I began my weight loss journey a year ago. I feel so much better. I used to have a lot of problems with heartburn and It's been months since I have had it. I am not so out of breath when I am playing with my kids so I actually play more. I can now buy clothes for myself without going into the women's section. Switching to drinking water from Soda has probably made the most impact and to be truthful I don't miss soda. I am still struggling with craving sweets especially chocolate, but I have found some low carb snacks that take care of my cravings. Atkins has been a fairly easy diet for me to follow. It is wonderful to see pounds disappear and that keeps me motivated to stay on the diet. I now have less than 20 lbs to go to meet my ultimate goal. I am not expecting to get there this summer, but I will continue to pursue my goal and take it slowly 1 lb at a time because I think that losing slowly is safer and hopefully I will be able to maintain the weight loss.

Is there another challenge starting? I just found out about DIS Wish and I joined the other day? As I have no other support. I think a challenge might help me with my first few weeks of WW.

My DH is of no help he just brought me home the most delicious smellling and looking pizza

some help right. He is a very insecure person thinks if I lose the weight I will not stay. His ex left him after losing weight. He doesn't get she would have left anyway.

So how about it any suggestions? Do I just start my own thread?

thanks

BTW I started last Thurs 4/22 and showed a loss of 3.6 lbs YEA::yes:: I dont want to slip back.
