I hear bits and pieces about the elevators at BWV. Just how many and where exactly are they???? By the sounds of it, not many. I already requested an upper floor, BW view, 1 BR. Should I request near the elevator too if there is only one????? If so, that was poor planning. :confused3 :rolleyes1

Yes, it is true what the BWV veterans say around here, those hallways are LOOOONNNNGGG! It can't hurt to try and request something close to the elevator, I don't know what your odds are, though. As far as I know, there is only one set of elevators, not far from the lobby, and if your room is at the other end...well, it's a long walk after a long day at the parks. Not only that, we found it is very difficult to navigate the stairways or find a door that opens in the direction that you want to go, should you try to take the "easy way" out. Either way you end up hiking quite a ways. There may be some BWV "pros" out there that can give you pointers, but we stayed there twice and haven't come up with any easy answers yet. So, as I said, it can't hurt to try...but you may have competition from anyone else who is "wise" to the elevator thing. Good luck! :thumbsup2

We just returned. There are three elevators and we never had a long wait.

However, we were on the 5th floor and far from the elevators. Next time I would prefer 2nd or 3rd floor so that we would have an option of walking up to the room from other points.

After dragging through the parks all day. 5 flights of stairs is the last thing i want. We did go down the stairs a couple times but even still 5 flights of concrete stairs + flip-flops = sore feet.

There is only one elevator on the Villa side and they are right off the lobby. The BWV stretches halfway to MGM, so there is a possibility of a long walk. When we stayed 1 night before the Mem. Cruise last year, we got the first studio off the elevators. It was Accessible without a tub, but it was late, so we took it.

Do you remember if it is dedicated?

I do wish there were more elevator stations, however, I have not ever felt that it's taken forever to get one.

Bobbi :)

Yeah, the hike and the hallways can be looooong. I don't think the BWV designers thought this through very carefully. The BCV can also be a hefty hike from the lobby, but you have a lot of other options -- the parking lot, right outside your door, for example, by way of the quiet pool. Or, to get to the main entry, you can bypass the lobby altogether and cut through the solarium.

One time we were so far down the hall we had to get room service from the swan and dolphin.

We were actually at the end of the hall with a BWV studio. We walked down the stairs and out the back door. much quicker than the walk to the elevators. Most times we got off the bus at the swan and walked. Much closer to our villa if we used the stairs.

Bobbi, I believe it was dedicated. It had a closet built into the armoire in the bedroom area against the wall so there was no lock-off door on that side, and the bed was on the opposite wall.
