OK, what should I do first?

What should I add to the site first?

  • Google maps for campground locations.

  • Review scripts for the campgrounds.

  • Rv Dealers and Rv reviews.

  • Rv tips and guides.

  • The newsletter.

  • Vbulletin, the same program the dis uses, for other campgrounds etc.

Well we are home, and almost unpacked, so it is time to start working on the website again. What do you guys is the most important thing for me to get working first?

Google maps... I want a map on each state with each campground listed with a push pin and info window. (this would help pick cg while traveling)

Review script... this would be a place to review each campground and see what others are saying.

vbulletin.... the same as what you are using right now.... a bbs for camping other than disney

Rv dealers and Rv reviews etc

tips and guides

rodgers newsletter.

Almost all of this costs money, and I can only do 1 or 2 right now, so I want the most bang for the buck.

Thanks John

Not sure youre looking for my 2 cents, but I thought I would throw it in anway for what its worth...

Personally my top two picks would be: Google Map and Vbulletin.

Google maps, cause I love maps (I am visual person-don't tell me where it is, show me so I can see where it is).
Vbulletin- Cause' well we seem to cover alot of stuff here on the Disboards, so I think this is a useful tool to start out with too. :)

Okay I gonna ammend my post a bit since I visted your website-I liked the listing information and links to the campgrounds you provided, but now I would really like to see other people's thoughts on the particular location I am looking at. For instance, a review for Holiday Cove here in Florida (since I'll be staying their the first weekend in May) would be nice. :)

Everyone is welcome, thanks for the input. I am doing this just for fun, not for profit. If I did all that stuff it would probably be $500+. I just couldn't find a decent site with all the cg listed, and everything else that I wanted. So I just want to know what would be the best use of my very limited budget. LOL The site has been running for about 2 months now, and I made $9 off of the google adds. :lmao: So I don't think I will living High on the Hog, for a while.

Thanks
John

I voted for campground reviews. Your site is great...Thanks for adding me!

Personally, I would get the Keg tapped and flowing first...then work on the website.

Hey, John! Glad you're back safe & sound. It appears as if your wallet is much lighter after paying the outrageous $4.19/gal for your fuel:eek: !

I voted for campground descriptions/reviews mainly because I have a GPS & use Google maps already. I can find my way there, but, do I WANT to go there????:rotfl:

Your website is lookin' good! But I agree with OP - tap the keg first, then work on the website!!

Priorities my friend, priorities!

Erica starts back to work tomorrow night, and is at an interview today for the masters program at Pitt today. So I at least need to look like I am doing something or she will want me to do housework or something. I am kinda alcoholed out, we did kungaloosh about 4 or 5 nights, and seemed like I had a cold beer in my hand alot too :rolleyes1 So I want to dry out for a week or two. Besides I drank enough in my 20's to satisfy my quota till I am at least 80.

I can do the maps pretty cheap, just pay a programmer to get me started. The review thing is about $150 plus installation. So keep the opinions coming.

Thanks
John

I voted for reviews but would like to make a second vote for the Google pin maps...
We are still fairly new to the whole camping world and need all the advice we can get! It would also be nice to see on a map where the campgrounds are so I can plan our trips to the Fort!:goodvibes
The site looks really nice and will be using it a lot I am sure!

I would like to vote for the personal reviews. I have the Trailer Life Campground CD which has been pretty good with the ratings but it is always nice to hear from someone who has actually stayed at a CG. The Google idea is good too, I have found that the TL CD has placed at least one CG in the wrong spot, here in Michigan.
