all these 'hatched on' things I see at the bottome of posts?

oh and HI - I am new! THis is my first real post - I am reading away and see these in a lot of signatures - I am a member of a lot of boards but this is the firt time I see these!

I quess maybe thatis why the siggi I tried wouldn't work thre were 4 images - small ones though - and I see a lot of big ones - but I quess they only have two -

you would think that they would post those rules here where us newbies are going to come get our feet wet -
