well got our approval letter yesterday and our goal is to have our membership paid off in 2 years.
How difficult is it to make extra payments??? can we do it online, by phone, or does it have to via snail mail? MS is closed today, and my guide of course is out of town.

Yes, you can make extra payments by phone using a credit card.

They pulled our monthly payment right from our checking account. If I made extra payemts, I sent them a check.

As I recall, I call MS and asked them the procedure. The CM gave me the information on how to send in extra payments and have them credited as such.

We simply called MS, went to the accounting option, and made extra paymebts by credit card, Disney Visa to be precise. Paid off the credit card the next month so as not to incur interest so it was a clean pay-off in the end. Paying off the DVC loan early has earned us a whole bunch of Rewards, which have covered character meals, romantic dinners without the little ones and many many pins and other souvenirs.
