cruise twice. I am truly in love with it. I almost afraid to try the western one. Give me some good imput. I have heard that people do like the eastern better.
Also what is the 4 day Wonder like that could be an option

I enjoyed the Western a lot. We always enjoy Key West (been there previously before the cruise), and we liked Grand Cayman also. Was not a big fan of Cozumel personally, but the ruins were cool. We're doing the Eastern this November and am actually looking forward to the extra day at sea.

The water sports are terrific, and shopping in Cozumel is excellent! The only downfall for me would be two sea days rather than three. I love those sea days!

Hi Shirley, We were on the April 2002 cruise with you and John. We did the Western this year and missed Grand Cayman so we are doing the Western again April 24, 2004. I did like the Eastern better but ours wasn't the typical Eastern. Our cruise did go to Costa Maya which I liked much better than Cozumel. We had a good time on Key West.
We hope John is well after his injury.

We loved the 4-day Wonder so much that we're doing it again.

I would book an excursion in Nassau. The town doesn't offer a lot to do on your own. We took a cab to Atlantis, saw the Dig and had a great lunch. Then we headed over to the Pirate Museum. My 6 year old son loved it all, but I wouldn't want to do the same things again.

You don't do the 4-day for the ports, you do it for the ship. The Wonder is beautiful! After looking at the Navigator's for the 7-day and 4-day cruises, the shorter cruise's activities and shows seem to be the best of those on the longer cruises. We can't wait to go again.

Shirley, I forgot to mention that we did the four day Wonder in April 2000 and 2001. We enjoyed those cruises also. On the first one, on Nassau, we did the Atlantis Aquarium, booked through Disney. We had a day at sea on that one. Our second we walked around Nassau and took a cab to Cable Beach checked out a few hotels and casinos. That cruise included a Freeport stop, we liked Freeport a lot. We took a cab to Freeport and then to Lucaya. If we ever go back we will do the My Lucaya Beach day.
I will say that I enjoyed the seven day Eastern the most. Like you and John we had no kids along.

We have done both eastern and western. Overall, we like the western a little better. In fairness though, I should say that we simply had a better overall cruise experience on the western, so not everything is based on the actual ports of call. We could have been anywhere on that cruise and it would have been a great time!

But, to compare the ports of call:

Eastern - St. Maarten didn't impress us much. We got some great tropical wear for next to nothing, but otherwise the shopping wasn't worth the walk. St. Thomas was really nice, and the snorkeling on St. John was fabulous. Also, the extra sea day on the eastern is very nice.

Western - Key West was wonderful. Great shopping, good restaurants. We missed Grand Cayman on this cruise due to weather, but we've been there before and always enjoyed it.
Cozumel was also very nice, both for the nightlife (we got there the night before due to missing GC) and the shopping the next day. Our friends went on a catamaran snorkeling excursion and loved it.

I really don't think you'll be disappointed if you decide to do the western cruise. We are going on the eastern again this fall, and have already booked another western for next year!

Its amazing how people from cruises remember you. I remember everyone on the two cruises we went on.
John is still doctoring.
I thought another cruise would lift his spirits. He just loves them.
People on cruises are just the best.
Maybe I will look into the 4 day cruise it would not be too much for him.
Any info on Atlantis. I would love to see it. Thanks a bunch
