Ok... VERY weird...!

If I was your husband, I'd be pissed!

Can't wait to hear if it is a surprise trip. That would be awesome.

Any news?

Please be careful, in the UK there was a scam when people were phoned and told they had won a meal at a prominate local resturant. They were given a time etc and told to keep it as a surprise for their "guest". Many people went and then their house was broken in to, whie they were out.

I hope this isnt a scam, and its a surprise trip. Even so, why would Disney call, if its a surprise I would be so upset for your husband!

Interesting !

Very Weird...I would tell Disney if they want to through in Flights and a resort, you would be glad to keep those ressies. :teeth:

sure sounds like , a surprise trip. The fact that they couldn't tell you about your ADR's could mean that your DH made them secret. Keep us updated!

Even if it is a surprise, since when does Disney call and make comments like "I hope you're having dinner at whatever this year." I can't see them calling unless there's a problem. Maybe some timeshare place got a list of old ADRs and is using it to drum up sales.

Yes, I thought the same thing.

I make plenty of ADR's every year and they never call ME about them.

I have read on the restaurant board recently that people were getting phone calls to make sure all their ADR's were in place and seeing if any needed to be made.

I had that call before our trip in September. They said that they were calling people to make sure they had made plans for dining. With free dining they said that some people weren't getting ADRs. They didn't actually have my ADRs in front of them or say they were calling to CONFIRM ADRs. They just wanted to remind me to make them. Once I had the CM on the phone, though, I did have her look up and confirm mine.

Keep us posted. I am hoping it is a surprise trip for you from DH!

To answer some questions...

Yes, DH did surprise me with a trip last year for our anniversary... he told me the day before we left (which was WILD for a planning freak like me ;) ) Anyway, DH got home from work last night, and, no... it's not a surprise trip (which I pretty much figured- we have a cruise planned for April).

I do agree with everyone... the very first thing I thought of was that it was a scam for information- especially since the woman asked me if we were still planning on having dinner at "the fort"... I mean, who calls it that? Did she mean Trail's End, or Hoop dee doo??? However, when I called the number I got the usual Disney recorded message (Woman's voice: "Hi, thanks for calling... you've picked a great time to visit the WDW resort"... yadda, yadda) I still made sure NOT to give out any personal info to them- I only gave my first and last name. The man I was speaking to was able to access everything with only that info.

So, to update... 1)Not a surprise trip. 2)Still waiting for a call back from Ernestine. 3)Totally confused.

Oh yeah, and 4)A little bummed that it's not a surprise trip. :lmao:

I'm bummed for you!!! I really thought it was a trip. Oh well, you have April to look forward to!! Keep us posted if you find out WHAT the HECK the call was all about!!!

Sounds really bizarre. Was the 407 number a Disney number? Did you try calling disney dining directly?

Is it possible this is some kind of phishing scam? I would not give out any personal info just in case it is not a surprise trip or just a mix up. Yes, please keep us posted.

That's what I thought--I hate being so suspicious of everything, though, sometimes there is magic and pixie dust! :wizard:

The conversation does sound un-Disney-like. "The Fort" :confused3 Is that a new place to eat? :rotfl: If someone told me to eat there, I would not be sure where they meant either.
But I am wondering if your name is common enough that it is like another guest's name. (Like Mrs Joan Smith vs. Joan Smith vs Ms Joan Smith) :confused3
And maybe Ernestine is new enough she does not know proper restaurant names and somehow crossed linked your name with someone else. :confused3 (New system glitch?)
But even that seems odd. I hate to think someone is confirming T-Day ADRs for "the Fort" when they don't even know the proper name of the restaurant.
Could maybe have been someone from a concerierge desk? :confused3
Very strange indeed. Lot's of IF's involved. My first thought too was of a scam of some type. But when you replied it sounded like a Disney recording... :confused3

It still sounds like a scam to me. A fishing scam. I would call and let the main line know about this and double check. They should know if someb ody is using there good name to get personal information. What flags it for me is that they told you to call a 407 number. unless you live in florida they shoudl have given you a 800 number. Be cautious. And anybody can make a recording of a Disney message and play it on the phone, that doesn't mean anything.

WATCH YOUR PHONE BILL!

I seem to remember a scam whereby you called a number in the US and somehow the call was hijacked and international calls ended up getting charged back to your home phone number.

OOOHHH. I forgot to mention in my last post that when I got the call before my September trip, they did NOT ask me to call back. Disney called to talk to me about dining ADRs the first time while I was out and left a message on my machine. They did not ask me to call back. They did call a second time and caught me while I was home. They never asked me to call them.

Thanksgiving Dinner at Hoop De Doo is officially called 'Thanksgiving at the Fort" http://www.allearsnet.com/menu/men_thks.htm (scroll all the way down) http://www.wdwinfo.com/holidays/Thanksgiving.htm#fort Christmas dinner at Hoop De Doo is 'Christmas at the Fort' http://www.allearsnet.com/menu/men_christmas.htm (scroll again) http://www.wdwinfo.com/holidays/Christmasdining.htm#fort

Since it's not a surprise trip my money is on honest mistake of transposed phone numbers and since the OP has previous trips her phone number would bring up her name. I hope the person who actually made the reservations can still get in. I think the reason the OP was asked to call back was becuase Hoop De Doo is paid for in advance - so check your CC statement. But really, I think someone typed a 5 instead of a 2 or some other similar number when making the ADRs.
