Ok... VERY weird...!

We had something similiar happen in September.

We were making our September 07 reservations and the lady on the phone asked us how we were enjoying our trip. We asked her what trip? She said the one we were on. According to Disney records we were staying at the Grand Floridian for six nights. We have never stayed at the Grand Floridian other than for visits and we didn't even know about it! I guess our trip was fantastic because it was like we never left home:rotfl2: .

Sorry it is not a suprise trip for you.It is more than likely Tinkerbell just swallowed too much pixie dust or eggnog.

And now we know what "The Fort" is. I guess anyone who booked that would know! At least I hope so. ;) I did not look at all the links, but it appears "The Fort" is Mickey's Backyard BBQ for T-Day.

I am hoping for you that this isn't a scam! I don't know how these people can do this to others... I know it's for money but the fact that they feel no guilt is astounding. You seem to have handled it well though, and I hope it all works out. Keep us posted... sending some pixie dust your way! :wizard:

I would call the main Disney number and let them know about this call and the number you were to call back to. Say you have no trips planned and the calls seemed a little fishy to you, so you just wanted to let them know.

1) Does sound strange
2) First, the dining ressie system
. . . has the dates of the ressie
. . . has the date or dates of ressie changes
. . . has the name of the person and address
. . . has the last-four credit card digits, if a CC was required for the ressie
3) The person should have been able to tell you everything
4) It will be interesting to find out if the ressie is for you

It may also be a computer glitch. Our last visit in Sept, they got our names and reservations confused with my brother and his family. They stayed 2 months prior to our visit and in a different resort - the WL. We stayed at the CR and I had some things ordered to our room and they were addressed to my brother and his wife! Even after I stood at the desk and corrected it, they still continued to get it wrong even though my brother has 4 people and we are only 2...it did not matter. They don't even know how it happened as we live in 2 completely different towns. After years and years of staying at WDW resorts, they suddenly had some crazy mixed up phone number on file for me. I am not sure but I think recently they did a computer conversion to combine WDWTC and CRO info as I believe they were at one time seperate.

It still sounds like a scam to me. A fishing scam. I would call and let the main line know about this and double check. They should know if someb ody is using there good name to get personal information. What flags it for me is that they told you to call a 407 number. unless you live in florida they shoudl have given you a 800 number. Be cautious. And anybody can make a recording of a Disney message and play it on the phone, that doesn't mean anything.

I have been called by Disney many times....Dining, Merchandising and CRO and they always leave a 407 number. As a matter of fact, the first time I went to Disney, I called CRO's 407 number and was told that there was no 800 number. Lo and behold, I learned 8008280228 from this board 5 days later.

Tough situation to be in. On one hand you don't want to tip your hat that you know about a potential surprise. On the other hand, if someone is trying to scam you, I'd want to nail that person. Sometimes people will try to get personal information from you. Say, you call back and they ask for your SSN or credit card #. Be careful!

I was just thinking the same thing! I see her on here daily...hmmmm the plot thickens. LOL

Ernistine is a CM at CRO and has been there for a very long time. She's extremely consciencious and really great to work with. But anyone could have called CRO and then used her name as part of their scam.

Hopefully it all works out!
