Ok, this is too cool !

As a big time fan of West Virginia University athletics, I think this could possibly be the coolest thing I've ever seen Due to budgetary constraints, the WVU Rifle team, winner of several recent national championships, was due to be disbanded this year. Well, to make a long story short, there was quite a bit of outcry from the state, from alumni as well as people that recognize the role WVU plays as a flagship for our state, and that lead to a reconsideration...and the eventual reinstatement of the team...PROVIDED that they could help in finding ways of funding the program.

Well, what you see below is one of those ways. The bike was made by Orange County Choppers (of "American Chopper" fame), and is going to be raffled off at an upcoming fundraising event. For more information (in case you're interested) see the site for WVU rifle:

PS...The girl on the bike is Nicole Allaire, an All-American in rifle at WVU.

Better hurry...As of Friday, 9,000 of the 10,000 available tickets had been sold For their $75,000 investment in the bike, the team has already raised $450,000 !!!

Hey, I didn't even see it until yesterday It was on the local news this weekend, but I musta missed it.

I have 2 tickets and I know I'm going to win.

Betty Puskar has already put out an offer to give the winner $100k for the bike.

I work next to the Harley shop its in. We went and saw it yesterday. It's good, but not WOW. They have rifles on the handlebars which is pretty cool. The rear fender is a picture of the New River Gorge bridge. And some of the 'spokes' in the wheels are rifles too.

I kinda figure Milan would end up with it, and likely donate the thing back to the school (or at least, the use of it)...

Can you see the Mountaineer riding that thing out to mid-field before, say, the Maryland game this year !!! How cool would that be (and how loud would the stadium get) ?

I don't get up to that part of the state much outside of football season, but I'm thinking about coming up this weekend just to "take a drive" and happen by the shop
