ok so I'm. Trying to convince DH that Aulani is worth it.
After all its our 40th next year..(we have to delay celebrating it because too many trip to WDW :lovestruc)
He says travel time(12+ hours) is a stretch and the airfare from Michigan is high. He'll be 74/75 at the time we go.
We've done Disney cruise and he doesn't want to that again.
So how do you convince your love one its worth it???..
We'll use our points . Our anniversary is Dec 21, but I'm thinking maybe sometime either in May or October or Nov 2022.
So any help is appreciated.

Aulani is amazing. We're from MA and we will absolutely go again. We loved it so much my DH is trying to convince me to buy Aulani, advocating that would mean we could go back every 3 years.

Have you shown him pictures? videos? Have you ever been to Hawaii? If not, that's a perfect reason to go as well!

I have never been to Hawaii, but my DH lived there as a boy. Maybe reminding him of things he did as a kid would get him more in the mood to think about it. And pictures of Aluani couldn't hurt either 🏝

Oh, yes! What kinds of things does he like to do? Maybe show him all the activities at the resort, too. There's a fantastic restaurant with views of the sunset that is perfect for an anniversary dinner. They do dance and ukulele lessons. The resort is a huge tribute to native Hawaiians, and is almost like a museum itself -- in fact, I believe it has the largest collection of native Hawaiian cultural items -- and one of the things we loved was going around exploring, reading all the info, and looking at all the items. They have a great lazy river. They do water activities and other excursions, and a fantastic luau. If you're a kid at heart, doing the (free) tour to find the Minehune is a lot of fun. There are great character meals, and Aunty and Uncle are great storytellers and just add that level of Hawaiian family feel to everything. We were only there 3 nights, but we're already dreaming of going back for a longer stay.

We've been to Hawaii three times, twice to Aulani. But we lived in California at the time and the plane ride was not as long. So, I'm with your husband on that one. The plane from East Coast to Hawaii will stink. Maybe point out sites that may interest him: Diamond Head, North Shore, Pearl Harbor, etc. Look at some activities that are offered at Aulani that you think he may do and maybe that will peek his interest. If you're thinking about going with an unobstructed ocean view room, show him a picture of how beautiful it is. If you have the time, maybe island hop?

Thanks to my parents’ timeshare ownership, I’ve been to Hawaii a number of times and have visited each of the four major islands more than once. Aulani is gorgeous, and it’s my dream to stay there at least once in the future. Yes, it is a long plane ride, but what awaits you at the end makes it all worthwhile.

Maybe the fact that he lived there as a boy makes him less enthusiastic, because things have changed significantly since he left there, I’m sure. He might be afraid to see those changes! OTOH, you’ve never been, so it’s not really fair of him to deprive you of visiting that gorgeous place just because he’s lived there before.

I hope you can convince him to go!
