Ok, the bait is set, lets see if DH takes it

Well I thought I should update you. I have pulled my "fishing line" out of the water for now because my FIL's health has taken a bit of a turn for the worst and we really need to be focusing on this at the moment, not a trip. FIL has been battling cancer for 2 1/2 yrs and at times it's been easy to forget he has terminal cancer, he just seems in such good health, except for tiredness. We live in Canberra and they are in Victoria so we don't get to see him as much as we would like but we make our way down there every 8 weeks or so. We have just found out that all forms of treatment are now no longer helping so things are very much up in the air as to how much time we will have together.

So for now, a trip is on hold which is ok, we will get another trip one day for sure. For now we'll just put the idea to the side and focus on family.

Keep well and the family safe. Look after yourselves and DH's family. There are much more important things in real life!

But we're here if you need to vent or need some .

We have our fingers crossed that we get another 6 months with him but at the same time, are preparing ourselves for less . Who knows what will happen.

With our new house starting in the new year, it probably really will mean quite a few years until another trip but since I love planning, it will just give me more time to plan right.

And I get to hear all about everyone else's grand adventures so make sure you don't leave out any details, take tons of food porn and remember, no small detail is too small to share

He is a shadow of his former self, as well as it changing his whole outlook. He was a very positive person, he is now more subdued and does not seem to be nearly as happy.

Anyway, I hope you get through it all okay, sending positive thoughts your way. I'm sure Disney will still be there to enjoy in the future.

Oh Kalice, so sorry to hear about your FIL. Watch him get worse must be incredibly hard.

I have to say, we have been so very lucky. My FIL looks almost as fit as a fiddle. He jokes that his paint job is good, it's the upholstery that needs a little work. Other than severe tiredness, it would almost be impossible to tell. He still has an appetite, walks every day. His moods do go up and down, but to be honest, he was always like that .

Anyway, sorry to hear about that Kalice, shall be thinking of you.

G'day ladies.

I just finished building in June and are going on out Disney trip in November.

I know all of DH soft spots. ($$$$$) We can clain parts of the holiday on Tax. They have a trade show at the orange county convention centre. It relates to our business.

Pitty when we get home we will have no money for landscaping for awhile.

Sorry about your FIL. Thats so sad. I hope things improve. Health always comes first

I read your post the other day but didn't have a chance to reply. Just popped in to see how you were going with your plan. I'm sorry things aren't going so well with your FIL.
As AustralianKaren said, a 'future' trip, can keep you sane. This one for us has been 3years in the planning. Its been a long time but its going to be really well planned.
