I am taking the plunge! I am planning my first solo trip!!
I'm actually really excited but also a little scared. I almost took a solo trip about a year ago but at the last minute, decided not to. Now I am ready! The ticker in my signature is helping me commit to it.
Anyway, here is my tentative plan.
Day 1: arrive in the late afternoon, check into my hotel, and spend the evening shopping and eating my way through Downtown Disney!
Day 2: Disneyland. I am considering taking a tour, like Walk in Walt's Footsteps. Any opinions? Probably hop over to California Adventure for a few hours in the afternoon.
Day 3: Brunch at Storyteller's Cafe & last minute shopping. Go home that evening.

Its just a short trip but I am already getting excited! Any advice from any of you solo veterans? :goodvibes

Here's the list of rides with SR lines:

DL- Splash

DCA- Soarin, GRR, Screamin, Maliboomer, Mulholland Madness.

Out of all of those, Soarin takes the longest, and Splash, GRR, and Maliboomer are the most effective.

Thanks! I've used the Splash SR line when I went to DL with someone who didn't want to ride it. I haven't used any of the others but its good to know which rides have them.
I'm getting so excited planning my little trip!

I'm a confirmed single rider fan when I visit solo... and I've never ridden any of them 11 times in 50 minutes like I have Screamin', or even come anywhere close....
:cool1:

Don't forget to get/use Fast Passes in both parks with a group or solo... in addition to the Single Rider Lines.

Hope ya have a lot of fun!

What I enjoy most when I'm going solo is to just slow down and take my time. When I'm traveling with my son, it's all about the rides. But when I'm by myself, I get to people watch, stroll the shops, chat with folks and snack my way around the park.

I make a mental list of the rides I must ride, but anything else is just a freebie. If I walk past a ride and the line is extremely short, I'll hop in.

I wouldn't do a tour unless you really want to hear what the guides have to say. But since you're on your own timetable, you can almost give yourself a tour. You can go where you want and spend as much time as you want there.

:cool1: :cool1: :cool1: I had a blast. I was a litte scared but it went away. I just started talking to people in line. I love to people watch. Just watching all the kid's faces and the big kids to.

I went out to dinner and everyone was so nice.

I would to downtown Disney to shop in the afternoon's it is so crowed and you can move around.

I did order room service for my last day for breakfast and I did order a bottle of wine so I could have a glass before I went out for dinner.

You will do just fine:banana:

I will do it again once my bank account recover from all of my shopping:scared1:

I'm so glad you had a good trip!
Yeah, I'm thinking that alot of my trip will be spent browsing the shops and eating all the yummy snacks the parks have to offer. The main reason why I wanted to take a tour was because I wanted to meet and interact with other people. But, I think I'll be able to do that without the tour. I've heard that solo travellers are always welcomed at Disney with open arms, both from castmembers and other guests. Something I'll have to think about.
Has anyone taken the Walk in Walt's Foosteps tour? I would love to hear some reviews.

Soarin' solo isn't that bad of a wait. It's not that it takes that long, it's that it's a high-capacity line. So compared to the others that load quickly, it's not instant. But I've never waited more than 10 minutes solo to get past the ticket taker (you enter on the fastpass line).

Screamin' as said can be real quick. I've ridden three times in the span of 15 minutes.

Solo is awesome. I am going solo again to end an upcoming LA trip in November. I'm going to LA as part of the Jimmy Carter Habitat for Humanity build. Going solo never feels like such to me as you always find people to talk to in lines and such.

I've gone solo two different time and had an AWESOME time! Like the others have said...you can do what ever you want, when ever you want. If you want to stop in every single store and look around you can! And don't worry about being alone! You're never really alone at Disneyland! There are so many nice people in line to talk to. I love talking to the kids and asking them what their favorite rides are. Then I pretend to be scared of that ride and listen to them as they try to convenience me that it's really not scary! LOL! Kids are so fun to talk to! Once you go solo you'll want to do it again. It's a whole new experience and you'll love it!

Ooooo, I'm getting sooo excited!
Another question. Has anyone ever done a character meal solo? I did Goofy's kitchen last October but I was with someone else. Not sure how it would be alone.
