Thank you, Talldewy, for the extreme close-up of Goofy - I can definitely see him better in the close-up, though I still don't think his likeness is as sharp as the other ones!! But I can see Goofy now!
You know, this is one of the MAIN reasons I love DLR and Disney in general so much - the attention to detail. They put so much time and effort and imagination into the smallest and most subtle details. That is why there is always something to see at DLR, no matter how many times you have been there before! How many folks do you think have walked over those DLH carpets and never paid attention to what was in them? Thousands, I am sure! And when you see something as clever as that, it makes you wonder how many other rugs you have walked on, how many other pictures hanging on the wall and how many other walls with decorated wallpaper, etc. have you passed by and how many rides have you gone on that have these little 'secrets' hidden in them which have gone unnoticed??
The people who even made those rugs deserve an honorable mention, because that sort of thing takes a long time to create. Someone has to sketch out the whole pattern for the rugs, and then rework it until they get it right and hide the characters cleverly enough so that they still look like branches and leaves. Then, they have to replicate that pattern on the material, and I am not sure if it is sort of stitched into or silk-screened or painted on the rugs, but whatever it is, they have to get it exactly right!!! And that is just for the rugs! Imagine all of the other places in DLR that have hidden Mickeys or other characters, and how much time has gone into placing them there!! We won't even get into all the Hidden Mickeys that are lurking in WDW!
This clever attention to detail and creativity is unsurpassed by any other (non-Disney) theme park! There is just no comparison! And that is why Disney makes the big bucks!
