OK, so now I'm thinking about reas, need opinions

We are leaving in 2 weeks. If I decide to add this, would I just call my Costco travel agent and tell them? I noticed on the Disney web site it includes a res for a Palo dinner. Does this mean it's the dinner or the brunch but not both? Also, to those of you who did it, was it worth it? Especially if you're traveling with the kiddos?!

I thought it was definitely worth it, especially since I was travelling with kids and my parents. Because I could make my reservations in advance, I didn't have to race around trying to get them once we boarded. We could just go to lunch and relax.

The price of the REAS only includes the dinner, but when you talk to Debbie to make your reservations, she will also make your brunch and tea ressies as a courtesy. There will, however, be an additional charge for the brunch and tea.

I booked it to get my spa /palo ressies so I wouldn't have to stand in lines...well...

Because I booked it as a single I have to go stand in line anyway! Have to have them change my couple room to a single and get "comped" for a second massage. ::sigh:: and it means going to the SPA to do it first thing.

So if you're doing it for yourself beware it still requires waiting.

Now that's odd, I'm a single and for the 10-day holiday cruise my TA scheduled everything ahead of time except for the second massage, which I scheduled while getting the first massage. I expected problems but, happily, was disappointed.
No wait, no line.

After some research I found out the massages that are typical for the package are normally $89 each. So I'm guessing that's what you'll get toward another massage or you get another massage that is allowed for the package. I really am pretty clueless other than what Debbie told me when she booked the package Which was I have my one appointment but will have to go to the spa to make the changes and whatever I get for the second one. Still kinda aggravated that I need to go stand in the ressie rush lines. Typical luck for me though

I have a word of caution for you regarding Costco and REAS...Be sure to take your REAS confirmation with you on the cruise. On the 10-day holiday cruise a friend, who signed up for REAS through Costco, and did not have her proof of confirmation on hand, had problems when DCL said they had no record of such a reservation. As it was over the holiday the Costco TA could not be reached and it was almost a disaster.

I decided to book REAS for our upcoming cruise...even though having kids along will put a bit of a crimp in the "Romance" part of it! It will allow for a smooth, relaxed boarding and a few surprises for DH.
Guess you need to decide if the $339 is worth it to you...
-->early ressies for Palo dinner, brunch, and spa
-->covers the cost of Palo dinner and couples massage
-->goody basket waiting in your stateroom w/champagne when you board
-->one "hot" breakfast in you stateroom w/champagne (as opposed to the regular roomservice options which are cold, "continental" style
-->special turndown on the night you dine at Palo with rose petals...this is the one that may be lost on us parents...unless you have early ressies for dinner, get back to the stateroom to "enjoy the rose petals" before getting the kids from the clubs at closing.
We likely would have booked a spa treatment each anyway, would have gone to Palo anyway, and would have had some champagne somewhere along the line anyway, and I love that there will be a basket of goodies for us upon arrival.

Thanks everyone for all the info. I'll call Costco first thing tomorrow after I talk to DH more tonight. I'm wondering if I'm too late, as we are leaving in two weeks. I'm surprised they screwed up someone's reservation. We've had top notch service with them, both times we've booked.

One other thing, I read all the info on the main cruise page. I'm wondering though, what the preferred dining rotation is? I wasn't giving it much thought before. I have read that it's kind of nice to be in Parrot Cay for the Pirate night. I don't really care all that much about dressing up (but we are bringing dress clothes for the formal nights) and I don't want to miss the night they have lobster tails as DH is looking very forward to that.

What's your input on the dining rotation and the best night to miss regular dining? Any ideas?
