Fantastic news! Simba, when does your band go?

Our band is going this December, and I'm soooooo excited! I just know I'm going to be bawling like a baby when I see my DS marching down Main Street USA!

Last night our director told us that the Disney folks told him the band has permission to stop the parade and do a short, 2-minute performance right in front of the castle. Is that cool or what?!!!

We've always gone to WDW in the summer when the kids are off school, so this is our very first trip during the holidays. Only 4 days, and I'm trying to cram in so much.......

I've heard in past years DS's band has gone to Atlanta. I think it was Bands of America (?) (DS just joined this year). In Orlando is some invitational. I can't remember the name..... National Invitational? I'm not too familiar with all the names..... I'll see if I can find out.

Laura, that's when my DS's high school is going to be there, too! I think they'll be there 4 days. I don't think they march down Main Street. I have no idea! I can't get past tonight's practice, tomorrow's game, and Saturday's competition in some tiny town about an hour and a half away.... it's all new to me! But rather fun!

If you know the date you're going to march, PLEASE post it! I know one DISer who'd try to be there for sure-me! Once a band Mom, always a band Mom. It always makes me teary-eyed. One time, I happened to see a high school band marching, didn't even know which school it was, but I cried anyways just thinking of how exciting it was for them.
