Wow. Heathrow closed all the runways....hope they are open again. You sure did get a lot of snow. The pictures of the tube with snow on top are really cool.

Hahaha, Charlotte that is a tiny amount of snow!

This was our road this morning:

Portsmouth doesn't get snow much apparently, so its a big deal here! and, it was cool to be wandering around portsmouth at 2am with hardly anyone out in the snow

Well this is only down the road in Brighton, Uni was closed for the snow, the bus system went down and everything!

I think it's all my fault. I'm on a project that seems to be causing strange weather events everywhere I go. I went to Houston TX a few weeks ago, and it "snowed" and I spent 7 hours on the tarmac waiting to de-ice. Last week I was in Dallas and they had a huge ice storm - and I didn't have a coat and no ice scrapper in the car. I had to go to London Monday, and despite hearing that Heathrow was closed apparently, they were letting internationaly flights go in and out.

I did get a bit of warning on this one, so at least I have some decent shoes and a coat.

I'm staying at the Coppid Beech Hotel in Bracknell, we were supposed to be starting a three day workshop, but I was the only one who could get here. Everyone else coming from Dublin, Paris etc, couldn't make it, so we are starting tomorrow afternoon.

I hope it is done, because when I leave here on Friday I am heading straight for Orlando for my cruise. I'm losing all day Friday, so I'm not too happy to have to be here, but as long as there are no delays on Friday, all should be okay.

Yuck! Bracknell! Not somewhere you want to be snowed in! I hope the rest of the trip goes ok! Its not always this crazy in Britain!

Are you at Sussex Uni or Brighton? I went to Brighton, I'm glad it didn't snow as I was at City College of Brighton and Hove (it was an HND but we had all our lectures at the college) as I had a 40 minute walk each day - Coombe Road (just off the Lewis Road) to London Road, couldn't afford the bus all the time

Would you believe the fire alarm went off when we were at dinner and had to stand outside in the cold with no coats for about 20-25 minutes. Not fun. Luckily, it is just a 3 day workshop. I spend some time in London for a project about 3 years ago, I loved the city.

You don't work for EDS by any chance?

Sussex, I live about 30 min walk away from campus (or a 10 minute cycle), but after some amazing falls between here and the bus stop, i decided to spend a pound rather than spend the next few weeks limping. I walked home though, which was an adventure in itself! Coombe Road was apparently pretty treacherous, i think London Road got a good gritting.

So you're at the 'proper uni' :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl:

We're stuck at home today (in Northampton) roads were blocked all over the place, we saw a guy in our street trying to move his car and he went forward and back a little and then went into a neighbours car :scared1:

Hope you don't slip, I went into the garden and we have quite a steep slope and I almost came down on my bum :lmao:

Oh how I wish I was in Florida :goodvibes

I'm so jealous! Not of the snow... we get that stuff here in NY State so I'm pretty used to that, but of you all being/living in England! I went to England for 2 weeks in September of 2006 and I just adore it! The architecture (love the tudors), the people, the accents, the Carling - haha. I know, I know, Carling is probably the England equivalent of Budwiser in the States but it was all part of the experience.

I started to miss it all as soon as I flew out of Manchester and I still do :guilty:

I always had to book that hotel for my boss, when I went to Bracknell I had to stay at the Travelodge ;)
