I TIVO'd it and watched what I think was the first episode this afternoon. Loved it! Loved it!! Loved it!!! :Pinkbounc  :Pinkbounc

I'm hoping someone else on here got to see it cause I've got a couple of questions.

Was the first episode the one where him and the girl get to see the earth explode or were there more before that one that I missed?

AND

How did he meet up with her anyway?

Oops, one more. Was it the Daleks that distroyed Dr Who's home world? I've forgotten so much about this show and haven't watched it since the Tom Baker episodes. While the new guy isn't Tom, he's fun to watch. Tom Baker, on the other hand, was dreamy. :teeth:

Your answer to the question of how Gallifrey got destroyed will be answered more in this season. It was also discussed in the books.. I can give you the spoiler, but you may want to wait to see it..

Tomorrow night

Tomorrow night at 11.30 and 12.30 PM EST

Cool. I'll take a nap during the day and stay up to watch them. My DH will be overjoyed. I remember when we were dating (in HS) we would stay up to watch Dr. Who reruns and my mother would be freaking out that I was up so late watching TV with a boy.

My Son had dinner with the 7th Doctor Last Sept.. We've met many of the cast and crew of the old and new series... I got to spend the weekend with Sarah Jane (ELisabeth Sladen) a couple times

That's amazing. Your son must have been thrilled. Of course my oldest DD is a closet geek. She actually loves scifi (and even plays D&D) but will never admit it in public because she's POPULAR. 13 year olds. :confused3

New Dr. Who???!!! When? Where? How did I miss this? Tom Baker as Dr. Who was my second crush, Mr. Spock was my first true love:love:. Yes, I've been a geek since I was 2. :rotfl:

BBC produced a new series in 2005, and will produce another new series (with another actor playing, now, the Tenth Doctor) this year. Sci-Fi just started presenting the 2005 series, Series 27 for the program.

So where does one meet these people at a Dr. Who Convention? I haven't been to a con in decades. Little thig like life and raising children always got in the way.

Yes. I go to three..The biggest is Gallifrey One in LA...There is also Chicago Tardis and a much smaller con,United Fan Con in Massachusets.. I became friends with someone who works for the BBC and is close friends with many of the actorsd..In fact he runs Panopticon ,which was the BBC offical Doctor who con in the UK..It's been through him, that I was able to get to know Elisabeth Sladen beyond the con circuit... We were with Elisabeth Sladen in Cheers in Boston and one of the waitreses,a young girl recognized her ..It was pretty neat...
I know a spolier about Elisabeth, that I can post, although some may already know

DH and I watched last night and we absolutely loved it!! We both watched the Doctor as teenagers and are thrilled to have this back on the air. Thank you SciFi!!

Thanks for the news about them rerunning the show tomorrow. I'll be sure to TIVO the first episode.

Gee, tomorrow will be rerun day. There's a Prison Break marathon tomorrow starting at noon EST on FX and running for 7 hours. Can't wait for that. :Pinkbounc

Nah, hold off on those questions I asked. I'll catch up with him and Rose once I see the first episode and the destruction of Gallifry can wait too.

I have to say it blew my mind seeing all the special effects (they were really well done!) after growing up with the Tom Baker series. Well I was a bit more than growing up at that point. I use to watch it with my kids who were in the 4-6 year old age group.

This show fills in the void left by the end of Star Trek quite nicely. BTW, anyone who wants to give a thumbs up to the SciFi Channel for bringing this wicked cool show to the USA, their email address is

Sarah Jane returns in season 28(the new season in the UK)..tp help ROse understand the regeneration of the Doctor... Not sure of details though

Jenny, one more question. Have there just been two episodes so far? I recorded two of them last night and watched the End of the World one first.

I just checked the SciFi site and the repeats tomorrow night just show they're showing two episodes. If that's the case then I watched them backwards. A real blond moment for sure. :rotfl: Reminds me of what I did when I got into 24 during season 3. I went and rented seasons 1 and 2 and watched them backwards as well.

DUH!

Rose is Episode one. The End of the World is Episode 2 . Next is the Empty Child, which is my favorite from last season
