Do the showers cost? How much? In the Oregon state parks showers are free, but I've never camped anywhere else that this is the case. But looking the pictures of comfort stations I don't see little quarter boxes.

If there is a cost, is it only 1 quarter? Just want to know if I should stock up on quarters before I go.

Thanks!
Melissa

No cost. The bathhouses are some of the finest and cleanest you will find in any campground anywhere.

Now, there is a laundromat in each bathhouse, and those you pay to use. Bring LOTS of quarters for the washers and dryers.

You will need quarters for ice, washer and dryer, and vending machines but showers are free. Well included in the price of your site.

Oh yeah, I always forget my family might want clean clothes, huh? So, no little Disney Fairies come by and take my laundry at night and bring it back fluffed and folded? What if I say bibbity bobbity boo?

Thanks for the response!

Okay, I haven't camped a lot but it never even crossed my mind that you might have to pay for a shower!

I guess it is a good way to cover water expense and discourage wastefulness (is that a word) but I would have been totally unprepared for that cost.

Happy Camping.

Bring lots of quarters ,,,Disney is EXTREMELY proud of their ice machines and laundry machines.

As you have already found out the showers/CS facilities are free and IIRC there are change machines for the laundry that even take $5 bills, but they might be out so the best thing is to bring like a roll of quarters. I think it's $2 pre washer and another $2 for the dryer.

If you go to the comfort station or laundry room after midnite, bring your Key to World with you!!! The doors are locked from midnite to 6am and only open with your key!!!

Haha! What a nice way to put it!

HappyCamper87, I think I want to camp where you've been camping. I am from the west coast and I did a happy dance when I found out that Oregon state parks didn't charge. At it isn't just the west coast, we camped for 4 months in Mass. and every shower........quarter for 10 minutes. We are bringing a dorm size fridge to cut back on ice needs, so hopefully that won't be too much. We are a family of 5 and my son is bringing a friend, so the laundry will add up. Do the laundry areas seem to be more crowded after midnight? My mom actually said she'd stay at the campground one day and just do laundry! :cool1: Thanks mommy! LOL.

Thanks again for your help. You guys rock!

Bobby Iger was over to the house last night having a Kungaloosh with me, and he gave me the big Disney thumbs up to start charging for showers when I am at the Fort. So in October, you have to come by the Kiwi and donate to the shower fund. It's not me, folks, it's Disney's way to defer expenses. King Kungaloosh has spoken.

Showers are FREE! It's $10 Disney Dollars to be able to get OUT of the comfort station...no wait, that's internet.

But, we get a better than Disney Kungaloosh in exchange for the shower donation, right??
