OK, possibly the dumbest question of all...

How exactly does one park hop? Do you use the PH ticket once, and then use it again at the other park, and the system "knows" you're hopping.?

Or do you use the ticket, get your hand stamped, and then the stamp is good at any park for that day. If so, do they run out of places to stamp, therefore you look like Tommy Lee when you vacation is done?

I just never got around to asking this question...

You get your hand stamped and you use that in conjunction with your ticket to gain access to other parks.
And the stamps are only visible with a black light. So no, you do not end up looking like Tommy Lee. :teeth:

HaHa! You are TOO CUTE! I promise you won't look like Tommy Lee.

You're tickets will look like a "flimsy credit card" if you will. When you park hop, you just insert it into the machine and walk through the thing. When you run out of days, you run out of days.

As far as I know you will not need to be restamped. And if you do want to get stamped, it will be with clear ink that you can only see under a blacklight.

It is a Stamp & your pass. The stamp you can see under black light only.

When you leave the park you get your hand stamped. It's some type of ink that only shows up in ultraviolet light, so it doesn't look like you had a drunk guy at the tattoo parlor. Supposedly the stamp changes every day or there is some kind of system they use.

At the next park you use your ticket again and show your stamp under the UV light. You need both the ticket and the hand stamp.

And there have been many questions on this board much dumber than yours;) Actually, it's not a dumb question at all. The only dumb question is the one that isn't asked. Don't be afraid to ask any question on theses boards. The people here are very friendly and helpful. Besides, someone else may be thinking the same "dumb" question but is afraid to ask.

Not a stupid question at all. I'd like to add a little more explanation.

When you use your ticket the first time today, that gets noted in the system. Whenever you attempt to use that ticket again today, it flags to the CM that it's already been used today and they look for a handstamp - so you should always get your hand stamped when you leave a park if there's any chance you'll go to another. My understanding as to why they do this is to prevent ticket sharing; 3 people use 3 tickets for MK in the morning; while they're offsite that night, they let 3 others use it for MGM.

YMMV, EITPMBW (everything in this post may be wrong).

I always thought the hand stamping was to prevent an even more sinister practice than pass sharing while offsite, if that's possible.;) I thought it was to prevent people from letting others use the passes while the original people were still in the park. For example, 3 people enter MK at 9 a.m., then one leaves taking the three passes with him and gets two other people and then those three enter, using the same passes. So, 5 people get in for the price of three. This may never happen, I have a suspicious mind.:smooth:

Oh yes, and don't forget you cannot WALK....you must hop....yes, like a bunny!!! ;)

obnurse2003 is totally correct! Forget hand stamps, admission media, biometric finger reading - the physical hopping is the key!

I don't believe we've ever been asked to show a hand stamp when entering another park! I understand the reasoning as I read this, but I always thought the stamp was to re-enter the same park, not to prove you'd been at another! Guess I'll make sure we get stamped regardless this next trip! Thanks for the last minute insight! Natt

Slartibartfast - Don't forget to check out all your handstamps while you're riding Buzz Lightyear. You'll see a strange mish mash of stamps you've received over the past week (and I'm a pretty obsessive hand washer).

By the way - with respect to your posting on another thread - I think you'll really enjoy your birthday dinner at Le Cellier. Love that cheddar cheese soup and mushroom stuffed fillet!

Have a great trip.

natt,

I've only been asked a few times; and one time they did ask the stamp had pretty much washed off due to time in the pool and shower. I think that this is like so many other Disney policies - best example, the dreaded refillable mug - that are in place but rarely enforced unless they need to.
