OK being a New York native, my pizza, and other fine dining are very important!!!

So, that being said, please tell me if there are any Pizza establishments we should try in Disney, thank you!

26 Days and counting the pixie dust till then.................. :cool1:

If your looking for NY style..its slim pickin's! We liked the take out at Spoodles on Boardwalk, also pizza at Palio in Swan was very quthentic italian, last christmas we were hungry and got pizza from room service at Poly and it was very good. Otherwise we do other food choices from WDW.
Connears

Sorry, no great pizza to be found. Some good flatbreads at a few places but the rest is just ok. Not bad, but not particularly good either.

Decent pizza at California Grill, Wolfgang Puck's Cafe and Jiko. Not sure if they're really considered pizza, though. Mama Melrose's pizza is tasty, as well.

I thought the pizza on the Boardwalk was the worst pizza I've ever had in my life. Pizza Planet's is pretty terrible, too.

I'm managing editor for a national pizza trade magazine and I have to admit the good stuff is few and far between in WDW proper. I get asked all the time what's good down there. Famous Famiglia is opening a branch in the Crossroads Center across from DTD. It's pretty good NY style.

That said, I enjoy the barbecue chicken pizza at Rainforest Cafe. It's spicy enough to make my nose run –– not real good for the kiddies. Someone told me Wolfgang Puck's has a nice 'za. I might try that in September.

When I visited for editorial content a few years ago, I went to Papa Joe's (it's up toward Altamonte Springs) and NYPD Pizza. Papa Joe's actually has some GREAT Italian food –– if you're driving down from Sanford Airport, I'd definitely try to make a stop in there for lunch.

Well, thanks guys for all your help, think we shall skip the Pizza than! SAure there is plenty more tyhings to much on, will just have to go take a ride one day for "real" Pizza, chinese, cannolis, greek food, and hey now how is that after I moved from such great eats , I GAINED WEIGHT!!!! CRAZY!!!!

Oh well thanks again all!!!

I thought Pizza Planet at MGM was pretty good, I had the veggie pizza nancy

Stay away from Pizzafari in Animal Kingdom. Possibly the worst food I had at WDW. Blech

While not "pizza", the 4 cheese flatbread at Mama Melrose is delicious. We also really like the pepperoni (minus the peppers and onions). :thumbsup2

I'm another one who thinks Pizza Planet is pretty good as far as theme park coutner service pizza goes. :teeth:

Hi, Spoodles(inside) has a couple of "Flat Bread" Pizzas that are decent. Joan

Can't say which is the best, but we like the pizza over at Trails End. Down in the bar section, served up quick with a pitcher of beer staes our appetite. Even the buffet upstairs offers some mighty tasty pizza, priced reasonable too.

Oh no!! Please tell me this isnt true!!!!! What will DH and the kids eat? They are true NY pizza snobs! No pizza for a week may send them all over the edge. :rotfl2: How about a Mc D's any close by?

Yes. There is one in Downtown Disney and one near the All Store Resorts. That is one place I hope to NOT eat at :rotfl:

I can only tell you about one pizza place - STAY AWAY FROM PIZZAFARI!!!!!
My son is the pizza king of the world. When we were in AK we saw Pizzafari and thought we would give it a try - big mistake. I thought my son described the pizza there perfectly in one word 'GROSS".

I may as well add one more "Blech" to the pizza pickings at WDW.

We're from NJ and have yet to find anything resembling pizza that we considered edible.

I've had very tasty flatbreads at California Grill & Todd English BlueZoo. The flatbread at Mama Melrose was pretty good too. Wolfgang Puck's Express was fairly decent too.
One I plan to try & have high hopes for is the Pizza at Palio - it is wood-fired brick oven pizza, that bodes well.

Stay very far away from Pizza Planet. Quite possibly the most foul pizza I have ever had.

I was watching FoodTV, and they showed how they make the pizza at the parks. it is all a machine from start to end. It plops out the dough, squirts the sauce (or flavored ketchup is what it looked liked) drops the cheese and other toppings, and the bakes it with the hot lamps. It did not look very good.

Well, the least they could do is start using tastier ingredients!

So, "in the parks?" what would that be....? Pizzafari and Pizza planet....anywhere else? We have always been surprised at how few pizza places there are in the parks and at WDW in general. I wonder if there is some marketing strategy that folks spend more at "regular" restaurants, so they choose to not offer pizza. I mean, clearly they choose not to offer a pizza CS at MK for example. Wait, I just remembered, I think Pinocchio Haus has pizza now...but it just seems to me they could have a window somewhere selling slices of pizza and it would go like crazy in any of the parks. I know my dd would be eating it if they did.

BTW, I think the Poly room service pizza is not bad too. Any other delivery options out there any good? (Giordanos is OK, but like to try new things)

Is NY style thin? What makes it NY style?

I do like the flatbreads offered around property and to be honest, would prefer those be more readily available--like from a CS. Of course, MGM doesn't even have flatbread available at the Flatbread Grill. :rotfl2:
