at x factor tonight??
I cried my heart out much to the amusement of my family !!:rotfl2:
Anyone else???

I think I'm immune to the stories now. I felt sorry for the guy but there was a huge sense of "Here's the story that will be milked for the rest of the series". :guilty: Same with the girl from Trinidad doing it for grandma back home.

I didn't watch this week. The best part of the X-factor for me was the auditions. These just aren't the same.

(Can't wait for strictly come dancing to start - I hope they haven't messed about with that too much.)

I don't recall hearing any sob stories in last week's show - I was hoping they'd ditched them but unfortunately they were back tonight.

I loved Jamie Afro!

Its the same old. I'm not heartless nor did I see it but it seems every year someone has the sob story they try to milk. If your talented surely you don't need to use something else:confused3

I think to be fair it isn't the contestants who try to milk it so much as the producers/judges who try to exploit it; every week it's - "Your [family member] would have been so proud of you", "I'm sure your [family member] is looking down and willing you on to do better than that" etc. etc.

I don't mind hearing about people's inspirations and incentives to audition but we don't need to hear about it for the rest of the series. We don't even know who survives boot camp yet so maybe this year will be different, who knows. :confused3

I'm glad we're not the only ones, I thought we must be hard hearted. TBH it gets too much listening to all these stories, I'll bet 9/10 of us have got similar stories we could 'play' on. I think the poster may be quite right in saying its probably the producers who encourage these stories to be told.
