I joined Connections 3 years ago during the trial period and never left. I paid the annual fee and used it for more than vouchers to get my money's worth each year.

April is my renewal month and if I dont cancel by the end of this month, I pay the increased fee of $179! $80 a year was worth it, but I was thinking hard about $180!

Price was not the catalyst even. Today I received my order of vouchers and movie passes and enclosed is this slip notice stating:

EFFECTIVE APRIL 20, 2004, ITEMS PURCHASED ARE NON-REFUNDABLE; THEY MAY NOT BE EXCHANGED OR RETURNED FOR CASH, CREDIT OR CHECK.

Now what the heck is that!

Enclosed was my order of VKL, QC's and VKB's all with 2005 expiration but........the 4 Loews Movie Passes have the month of April punched on the bottom of each pass. (mind you today is the 27th) and the pass reads that the passes are valid thru the last day of the month punched. So I have 3 days to use these passes and they are telling me after the fact that I can't return them! Only the Loews passes have expiry dates the UA tickets do not.

They have in the past sent me Breakfast Vouchers in May that expired in May of the same year, but they made it right and I reported that in their defense, but they do have a tendency to mail out expired items (as experienced and reported) and there is no way Im getting stuck with items that I cant use.

So bye bye Connections, HWSC, Lillian Vernon and all affiliates of Memberworks. That is not a service I am willing to pay for.

They will be getting a call from me in the morning also.

I am almost certain that it means the last day of April 2005. But call to check. We had a similar story and when I called it was the last day of the month for the FOLLOWING year.
 
Yes, I am also going to cancel after making a final order. I am not at all pleased that they've changed to a 'no return' policy. I ordered gc for Red Lobster for a trip we took over Easter. I ordered on March 19 which should've been plenty of time to arrive. I called and emailed looking for the gc twice. They didn't arrive until April 12, the day after Easter and the day we arrived home from the trip. The gc were sent Priority Mail with 4/9 as the postmark. That is completely unacceptable. The closest Red Lobster or Olive Garden (same company) is nearly 50 miles. We just won't drive that far for dinner. I returned the gc to Connections on 4/18 by certified mail as per their instructions. I'm waiting to see if they will credit my acct since the gc had to have arrived after their 4/20 policy change.
