I think I am correct that Master chef night is Tuesday on the western (please correct me if I am wrong) So that is when I would want to eat at Palo. So my questions are as follows:
Where/when do you make your reservations? How soon after you get aboard can you do so and where do you do this?
how long does the meal take? How long should my son be prepared to stay in the lab? He would enjoy some activities but would hate it if he had to go to the karioke thing (he is EXTREEMLY shy) How hard is it to get your requested time? (how many people can eat there at a time? I was hoping for a 6:30 or 6:45 reservation would that be difficult? Also is it tables for two or do we have dinner companions? thanks Ann

I'll try to answer all your questions;

We get to the terminal around 10am and wait. We board around 12:30 and split up to go to the spa and Palo's. You book your ressies at the restaurant, Deck 10, aft. They technically open at 1:00pm, but on both cruises I've been on, they opened early. You are able to book as many spa treatments as possible, but can only book one night at Palo's. You can call during the trip to make a reservation or be put on a wait list. The restaurant probably has 50-60 table (you can sit alone with your party of two or more). They also have a private room for larger groups.

Book the brunch. I'm not brunch person, but it is the best.

If you go early, you can get whatever time slot you want. Many people with kids and early dining ressies, go to dinner with the kids', don't eat, then when the kid's are settled in OCC, they head to Palo's. The dinner is as long as you want it. 1-1/2 to two hours.

The restaurant is worth all the hoopla it gets..... hope this helps.

Just got back from the 10/12 cruise and ressies for Palo were done at Rocking Bar D. As soon as we got on the ship at 12:30 we went there to get a number. They were already in the 60's. Not a long wait though. There were only a few people ahead of us. Got the dates and times I wanted.

I am not sure what you mean? Like at the Deli counter? So if you get a number then what do you do? Wait at rocken bar D , go to your room? how did you know to go there instead of Palo? Thanks

Are there seatings all night long at Palo's, or are there just the two seatings like at the "regular" restaurants?

Paul

The seatings are all night. You can request 6:00 or 7:30 or 9:00 etc. whenever you wish to dine:D

We didn't do Palo this time but I didn't remember anything about a number system. When you check in at the port they will give you a sheet with important info like where to go to make ressies or change dining times etc.

It sounds like they have changed the Palo reservation system on the MAGIC to be the same as the current system on the WONDER, and if that's the case, you do go to Rockin' Bar D to make the reservation. The Personal Navigator you get will tell you the exact location. :)
