OK, newbie question, why do so many favor BCV???

I am quickly learning that people's love for a resort has very little to do with anything other then a personal choice. SAB seems to be the primary reason most people love BCV and the close proximity to Epcot the 2nd (obviously it is reversed for others). There are downsides to every resort and BCV is no exception, so it basically comes down to your own personal choices. If you love highly theme'd pools, you will love SAB....if you just want to swim and have a slide for the kids any pool will do and there may be others that are more fitting.

True you can hop in and out of Epcot very quickly, but if you are going to MK you are sharing bus service with multiple other resorts, so this can negate time savings if you go there primarily over Epcot. Same thing with BLT, if you don't do MK a lot, then its location doesn't necessarily help you much and can cause you grief. It all comes down to personal choice.

Seems everyone loves their favorites for different reasons. :) I tried BCV because so many seemed to love it on here. I didn't like it nearly as much as SSR and Kidani (my favorite resorts). I much prefer the quiet resorts which feel like you are away from everything. I actually love Kidani, but dislike Jambo...they have very different vibes!

For me I walked into the BC and it was love at first sight. And that was before I experienced all the things others have mentioned. To me it feels like home :goodvibes I do not feel that way about any other resort I have been to.

BCV is small and close to Epcot so you can walk over to Epcot at 8:50PM to watch Illuminations and be back in bed by 9:30 if you like. Parking is very close to the resort.
Exactly. I don't own at BCV but I like staying there just for the short walk to Epcot. I don't particularly care for SAB so the pool has no draw for me. We own at BWV rather than BCV only for the BW view that is available there. BC really has no wonderful views. Also, walking to DS is easier from BWV.

I think BCV has the best self parking after OKW. It's not nearly as far as BWV, Jambo House, VWL. It can be closer than SSR and KV.

I'd say Kidani is very likely to be closer parking with the underground parking very near the elevators. We loved parking there and getting upstairs to our villa in about a minute.

The pool and the proximity to Epcot.

Ditto! Walking to Epcot for a quick drink or bite to eat is wonderful!

Our DD also LOVES the Kids club! Makes it easy for date night with all the dining in EPCOT and on the Boardwalk...

We have not yet stayed at BCV, but have visited a couple of times. It's just a beautiful resort; deluxe from top to bottom.

These are good points.

Like a PP said, they all have their advantages & disadvantages & everyone has their favorite. BCV isn't MY favorite, but there isn't a DVC resort I would be disappointed to stay at. I don't think BCV is dated at all & I love the creaking of the wood floors in the Breezeway & Solarium, the quiet sitting rooms, close walk to Epcot, the shops, the boardwalk. I was not too pleased with our views the couple of times we stayed there & I'm not a fan of SAB, I find it's too big & I lose my kids. They're older now, but I still like to watch them having fun. We'd stay there again in a heartbeat, but we actually prefer the quiet pool. Who knows, maybe next time I'll get that pool view I've been asking for. ;)

The resort itself is not my favorite (Kidani gets my vote) and I'm not a huge fan of SAB (not very relaxing) but I love the plethora of dining choices available between Epcot and that area's resorts.

I have never stayed there. Visited a number of times and it seems beautiful. I would like to try it sometime but I just can't seem to bring myself to book anything but OKW. Somehow I just keep going back. I have booked AKV a couple times but I just keep going back to OKW. There is just something about it that keeps us comming back. Point being if you ask the same question about any other resort the fans of that resort will all chime in. Some people won't go to the BWV because of the Clown. I won't do VWL.I live in the northeast when I go to FL I want palm trees not more pine. I get enough of that at home. I grew up in NY so SSR just does not do it for me. If I want that for my vacation I will go to the Lake George area. I might try AKV someday as the animals would be nice. Just go with what you like. I like my OKW just fine for now.

I've never stayed at BCV (will in 12 days) but we've stayed at BC multiple times and YC once. It's a really nice resort, and this is coming from someone who didn't like it initially! BLT is my home resort and I love it, but BC is I guess my 2nd favorite - or maybe it's just my favorite, part 2. If we add on, it will be at BCV.

I hope the next villas refurb includes freshening the decor so it looks as nice as the rooms at BC look now. I don't like the decor of BCV at all, but I don't really like the decor of a lot of Disney resorts because they rely too heavily on a mix of heavy florals and patterns. To me, it *does* look dated, and I compare it to the new BC or BWI decor, not to BLT decor. But that wouldn't deter me from staying there.
