**OK** Lets test your OKW knowledge. How would you answer this question? -

There are over 50 vacation home buildings that you could stay in at OKW. Which do you think is the "best" building (by number) at the Old Key West Resort and WHY do you think its best?

I hate giving away our secret but, we love building 26. It is right next to the Pennisular bus stop which is the first stop. We like the view and usually request 3rd floor. We have been in this building the last two trips. We like being close to the hospitality house and having the first stop is ideal. I don't know how many times we walked to the stop only to see the bus we wanted pulling away. We then just walked to the hospitality house and caught it when it stopped there as the last stop. We usually request 23, 24, or 26 when making ressies. They are all in that same area. Building 25 is smoking.

We like 53/54 non smoking buildings. While OKW is a very quite resort being in this section makes it even more quite. YOu are steps from the quite pool and the bus stop.

I still like 18 (I know its old - one of the original) - but I love it locations, it view (water), it is close to a quiet pool and close to a bus stop (but not to close that noise is a problem). You can easily walk to the hospitality house and you could also easily walk to the PO/DL from this building. I have been going since 93 several times a year and I still love this location. But if you have a problem with stairs then the new building 62-64 have elevators none of the other building do.

However do not try to request building - I use to and before OKW sold out did not have problem - I do now. If the building you requested is full the room controller will put you where he wants. So I just request what I want - water view, near bus stop and pool. I generally get that without problems.

Either the Peninsular Road (26) or the new buildings (62 or 63) are our preferred buildings. We like to be close to the action and the views are great.

WDW...Been There, Done That, Going Back!

We usually don't make any requests. But if I decide to try for our March trip, how do I make a request? To whom and when?

To make a request - call the day before and fax your request. Also be a little persistent at check in.
On the other hand - without requesting a particular spot - we have regularly gotten nice spots at OKW, each having it's own charm and issues.

We like 55 it's right on the canal and next to one of the pools, and is very quiet in the evenings.

We love the buildings along Old Turtle Pond Road. We have stayed in several of them and have enjoyed all of them. We don't request a specific building just Old Turtle Pond Road, first floor (I hate to carry luggage up and my legs don't work too well on steps after a long day at the parks)and near the bus stop. The views are water and the golf course and it is a very restful area.

We prefer buildings 45 and 46. They overlook Trumbo canal and we enjoyed watching all the boats cruise back and forth to DD. There are lots of beautiful trees across the canal so you feel like you are in the middle of nature.
