ok ladies...makeup in the parks..

I just use a tinted moisturizer with a light dusting of powder. Anything heavier seems to induce more sweat!

Me too. I'm always planning on how I'm going to be like the women who do the primer and use something to set their makeup, and nope. Haven't done it yet. It seems too much of a bother. Now if I'm going to dinner at The California Grill or something, I will make more of an effort. But Mickey Mouse doesn't really care if I wear a full face of makeup or just some tinted lip balm.:p

I use Bare Minerals and I have never ever had a problem with it melting off of my face! not even where I live (Louisiana) in 100 degree weather with 90% humidity!
I use a lot of Bare Minerals too. I've started using Dr Jart BB cream instead of the powder foundation but I still use the setting powder. I wonder if the powder foundation would be better for Disney though. I'll bring it in case the BB cream doesn't hold up.

Almay Smart Shade Anti Aging liquid makeup. It's somewhere between tinted moisturizer and a true foundation/concealer. Light enough for hot park days, and it has SPF 20 :)

Most days in summer I don't wear makeup, but if I do it's the following,

Shiseido and Smashbox both have great bb creams with sunscreen!
I combined either of those with Photo Finish primer (the classic imo is still the best),
Fresh Sugar lip treatment (also spf),
and Laura Mercier loose translucent powder-- surprisingly this powder actually does have coverage as well.

All are lightweight, totally natural looking, and perfect for hot days!

Good advice from all the ladies in the thread! I also use primer, powder, and waterproof liner/mascara at Disney and they've prevented any serious melting issues. But I'm usually in the parks in Spring. If you want to keep things flawless even in the dog days of Summer, I'm adding another vote for Urban Decay All-Nighter.

Urban Decay All-Nighter Setting Spray is a godsend. Nothing slides once it dries.

Does it feel sticky? I always have imagined this product to feel like spraying your face with hairspray but if that's not the case I'd be open to trying this product...

Not squirrelsquad, but though it does spray on wet (which can feel weird!) I find it dries quickly and comfortably. Maybe try a spritz from a tester at Sephora or Ulta if you have one nearby?

Starting to pack for the trip and doing last minute shopping this weekend. What do you use to keep your makeup from sweating off and looking good? Any suggestions/tips? I usually use a full coverage liquid foundation and can't leave home w/out it- so makeup free isn't an option.
Hone stay I don't do anything differently than I do at home, and it stays pretty well regardless.

@BusyP76 When you first spray it, it's wet (like a spritz hair spray), but dries really fast. I don't find it sticky at all and I use it anytime I put on make-up.

I must be doing something wrong. Aside from the fact that I HATED the way primer felt on my skin (and combined with tinted BB cream on top it felt like my face was suffocating) but it felt like the makeup was sliding off as I tried to apply it. My eyeliner wouldn't stick at all with primer under it.

I find that I need to use both eye and face primer very sparingly. The eye primer that I'm using now is Too Faced Shadow Insurance. I squeeze a dot of it onto the back of my hand near my thumb. I bought it from HSN, and they had a video on-line that instructed you to do just that.

The primer I'm using at the moment is Orchid Gel from Skinn Cosmetics. It comes in a container that's the size of a small cold cream, so it seems like you should use a lot, but I dip the pad of my index finger into the jar once, dot it all over my face, and use a make-up sponge to blend it in. You need to wait a new minutes for primer to settle into your skin before you apply make-up on top.

Throughout the year no matter what the weather, I'm a fan of using blotting paper on my forehead and nose to soak up oil. I get NYX brand sheets BOGO at Ulta. Every single day, I use primer, eye shadow, liner, liquid foundation, powder, blush, and lipstick. At Disney and whenever I'm going somewhere after work, I freshen up my eyeliner (Mally), use a blotting sheet, and then dust with foundation powder (Laura Geller Balance N Brighten), and obviously put on more lipstick--I add that a few times a day, always after I eat. I'm 54 years old and feel naked without full make-up ever since I turned 50. If I'm going to eat somewhere straight from the park, I bring a hair brush and Gold Bond powder for my shoes and underarms.

Another vote for Bare Minerals which has some sun protection built in and some lip gloss. I also wear a baseball cap to try to keep most of the sun off my face.

I wear make up too regularly but NO WAY can I wear it in 95+ degrees with humidity!... my face is hot enough and I like to splash cold water on my face throughout the day to cool off..I dont care who sees me or what I look like ..long as Im comfy..good luck :)

I don't really use foundation, but I do wear under eye cream/ blemish concealer. It never stays, even at home... I'm kinda pale.

What would y'all recommend for just light concealer for those small areas that won't wear off or crease?

I've had good luck with Clarins Instant Concealer; it's meant to be for undereyes, but I've used it to smooth out other areas on foundation-free days, too.
Lately I've heard great things about Maybelline Fit Me concealer, which is a lot more budget-friendly than Clarins, but haven't had a chance to try it yet.
Hope this helps a bit -- I'm super pale and struggle to find a good concealer, too!

I got this stuff sometime last year in my birchbox - and the minute I used it I knew it would be great for disney! I haven't had the chance to try it yet in Disney though.

This is coming in my May box...this thread was timely, and I'm glad to hear it's something that will work well in summer heat!

As for the PP asking about "Disney Face" (which is what I call my makeup routine there, because it is so drastically different from home, which is a FULL FACE of makeup 80% of the time) in summer: sometimes a primer, BB cream, maybe concealer, setting powder, blush. It all wears off with water rides and sweat anyway. Our next visit to WDW is in December, so my daily face might get to make its Disney debut, LOL. We'll see what I end up doing in California this summer!

My favorite primer is pretty cheap - Hard Candy perfecting primer. I am a high end makeup believer, but this primer is better than anything else I've ever used, including Urban Decay, Make Up Forever or Smashbox. You can find it at walmart, I think it's around $6. The trick to primer is to warm in your hands or between your fingers and then pat it on, rather than rub it in. Also, leave it on for 5 minutes or so before putting makeup on top of it. Applying your base/foundation with a beauty blender or buffing brush is a must for me, and helps with the longevity of my makeup. Using the correct products for your skin type and using the right tools is key to your makeup staying put. Unless you live in the land of humidity and death, like I do, haha, in which case, in July and August you just hope for the best!

I am OBSESSED with my Laura Mercier setting powder. I swear, it's some kind of miracle dust. My makeup has never looked as it does now that I've been using it. It is expensive, but you don't have to use much, so it lasts a long time. I'm hoping it holds up in the warm weather. We've just gotten up to 80 a couple times in the last month, and so far so good.

I use: Elizabeth Arden Flawless Start primer, very light layer of Skin79 Hot Pink BB Cream, Trish McEvoy BB Cream, or Estee Lauder DoubleWear foundation, UD Eye Primer Potion, any eye shadow, Nars blush, MUFE Microfinish Powder, and a spritz of Ben Nye Final Seal. My makeup doesn't stay in place all day, but I easily get 8-10 hours of wear without it all sliding off my face or looking like an oil slick.

As a tip, make sure your primer and foundation formulations pair up. If you're using a silicone-based primer, you want to pair that with a silicone-based foundation. If it's a water-based primer, look for a water-based foundation.
