I am going back to Disney!
We became DVC members last August with a rented reservation for October at "home", AKV. When we bought, DH insisted that there would be no Disney trips until April 2010 when we bring my parents.
Well, I stumbled into some great airfare for June so I decided to use our 2009 points for a trip (instead of banking them for 2010) and then borrow 2011 points for the 2010 trip. Anywhoo...DH gave in and said he would go so we had a great trip in June and became first-time AP holders. I figured that would be the best deal since we can use them again next year. Little did I know that those AP's are trouble...
DH decided to go hunting this September (again) in SC with his brother. Because it is during the school year, I have to take off 4 days from work....that is 56 hours of PTO since I work 14-hour shifts
. I agreed wholeheartedly with completely selfish motives
....I asked him if he would take 2 days (24 hours) off of work so I could go to Disney with my BFF. HE SAID YES!
So, off I went to start planning. Since I have no points, I looked at Pop Century (hey, this still has to be a "cheap" trip) with the free dining. I also got an AP rate quote. It would cost us $380 MORE to add the "free" dining
. And that is only for the counter-service plan! I mapped out our ADR's (more on that later) and our CS meals and we will only spend about $125 each, before snacks, and that includes FIVE TS meals. So, we're booked October 15-20 at Pop for $388!
Oh...and did I mention that we arrive in WDW the day before MY BIRTHDAY
? I even got a great deal on airfare thanks to the budget-boarders. How does $79.20 non-stop, round-trip from Detroit sound? Oh, and by the way, I got a business class upgrade on top of that
.
We are two adults (I am married with 2 kids, she is a single gal) and we can't wait to do Disney "adult style"
Want to see my plan? More to follow......
