ask for restaurant help!
I am making ADR reservation this Wednesday and have 1 too many TS's on my list. On DDP plan. Which one should I drop and why?

Tusker House (lunch)
Captain's Grille (dinner)
Kouzzina's (dinner)
Tony's (Sweet 16 DD's request) (lunch)
1900 Park Fare (breakfast)
Whispering Canyon (breakfast) (staying at WL)
Biergarten (dinner)
The Wave (dinner)

I really don't want to book all since already want to do Cali Grille out of pocket and another TS would leave too many cs's leftover.

TIA Dis friends.

Kouzzina. Hands down one of the worst meals I've had anywhere in a really long time. I really wanted to like it. I'm a huge Iron Chef fan. I love Cat Cora. I love greek food. But the food came out cold, and wasn't really any better even after it was warmed up. The service was horrible. I guess there's a chance it was a really off night...but I don't think I'll be back to see.

I could not agree more! I was just afraid to say it first... WOW, what a bad dinner that was. There is rarely (if ever) a meal that I can find NOTHING I enjoyed, so this was a first for me. :sad2: Skip Kouzzina.

I'd drop Captain's Grille. It's just a basic restaurant -- you'd find similar food and atmosphere (essentially) in almost any city. When we eat there, it's because (a) we stay at either the YC or BC and (2) there's a reason why the convenience of the location wins out over going someplace else for the meal.

Please understand -- I'm not saying there's anything wrong with it. And when you weigh in the convenience factor if you're staying right there then it can be a perfect choice, but of your list of options I would say it is the least interesting.

I agree - Captain's Grille. We had it scheduled for our last trip and as we sat eating one day in Epcot, we realized it would CG would be a bit boring and we'd rather spent more time eating in the countries. The rest of your plans seem too interesting to drop one and keep CG in there.

Hard to say...everyone's taste is sooooo different. What I think is great, you might think is horrible:confused3 You might want to check out the menu options at each, pictures, atmosphere, etc. then go from there. I usually take reviews very carefully...example...Mickey's Back Yard BBQ doesn't get great reviews, however, we have been wanting to try it for a long time. So, we are going to see for ourselves in June....and of course go with an open mind. Good luck deciding!!

:sick:Biergarten

Not even close to authentic food and too expensive to go just for the entertainment. Edited to add we find Kouzzina hit or miss so I might drop that too. But Biergarten yuck! We enjoy Flying Fish and it is much more consistant than Kouzzina.

I agree with what the PPs have said. Also, I think it depends on who is in your party...how many, any kids, ages, etc. It also depends on where you will be and what is convenient for you.

I do think you should check out the menus and the reviews. We really utilize both of those tools when trying to figure out ADRs. Good Luck!

Have a great trip!!

Even though you are staying at WL, I'd drop the WCC breakfast. On the DDP breakfast is the easiest meal to eat CS or just from snacks. You can get good pastries in the resort or in any park you are touring that morning. 1900PF at least you get characters and is a full buffet; more food choices than the skillet breakfast at WCC (and with teenage kids, buffets are the way to go!).

Captain's Grille-- Doesn't seem worth trekking over to YC/BC when you're that close to Epcot.

Tusker house will always be my favorite restaurant on property- but that is because I love all the more "different" dishes they offer. While they do have mac n'cheese, and broiled chicken, also be prepared for couscous and orzo pasta dishes.

I also adore the experience of going to 1900 Park Fair. Seeing the characters is always fun, and typically the service is excellent.

The only one on the list I would really reconsider is The Wave. We have been there twice and both times both the service and the food fell short. Personally not my top pick.

My best advice: check out the menus. And no matter where you go I am sure you'll have a great time.

We did dinner at Tony's in December. I was not impressed with the food. The atmosphere was need and we got to watch the electric light parade go by while we ate. So that was neat. Never done lunch there so it might be better

I haven't been to all on your list but from what I have I would drop Captains Grill. I've only been for lunch but it wasn't good. I won't be back and we have our dvc at BWI so I'll always be close too.

sorry to hear this. kouzzina is one of my bf and my favorite meals on property. we've been 3 times since may 2010 and have always had excellent service and food. we will be back in oct 2011

Wanted to say thanks to all and let you know what was decided. Successfully made my adr's this morning and I took out Captains Grille and moved WCC in as a dinner instead of the breakfast, keeping the rest the same. I dropped Captains Grille as we live in New England and figured can get good seafood here anytime so finalized on those TS's that were more unique AND convenient to our home resort or the park du jour.

Thanks again to all!

Sounds like you made a good choice. I'm glad you didn't give up Kouzzina. We had an excellent dinner there. Hope you have a good experience too!

Use 2 TS for Cali Grill, if you still want to pay out of pocket do it for something else like Biergarden for lunch. It would end up saving you $$$
