I think most of them need a day job, like the rest of us.


My band never charged a dime for shows or gigs when we played, we did it because we loved music, not money

and about every artist around today has lost the love for music and doing it just for the money.

I think this issue is very confusing.
I would like to compare itto a library where for free I can "rent" books and then I buy some of the ones that I love. No one seems to have a problem with libraries where they pay for the book and tons of people read that book for free. My friends and I exchange books all the time and if there is a book that is outstanding to me I will go and buy it.
Even the wording of the legislation has, IMHO several different
ways it could interpreted. I dont own a mp3 player, but I have been watching this issue in case I decide to get one in the future.
It may be a technology that will be wiped out by legislation.
