last May, we stayed in a 2 br condo at cypress point. We had a room that overlooked the volcano pool. Were we in the regular cypress point, or the grand villas? we rented thru hotelkingdom, and I thought we were in the regular side (not grand villas), but now I am not sure. I want to rent again, but I would like to be in the same place/general area as we were last time. Help!!! Thanks!

Its the regular Cypress Pointe, the grand villa's are down and across the street. HTH

are the grand villas closer to WDW? and is it walkable? We walk 3 miles everyday, and it says they are 1 mile away!

it is more like they are 1 mile from the hotels in DD area.

I won't consider walking - you would need to cross at one - very, very busy street. - 535 and then Apopke vineland turns into 535 - but at least at that point it has a sidewalk.

you definitely need a car for going to the parks.

CPR and CPGV are adjacent (just phase I and phase II of the same complex - phase II is just across the little street that runs between them).

They are very close to Downtown Disney, but keep in mind that WDW is a very large area than includes many hotels and parks. It's not within walking distance to any of the parks (and I agree with Spiceycat that I'd rather go to DD in a car than try to walk it).

We were at CPGV the week before Christmas and LOVED the 2BR. All of the buildings surround the two pools, activity building, and store/deli. The volcano pool would probably be about a 5 minute walk from CPGV.

From what I've read, it sounds like the 2BR at CPGV is a little larger than the one at CPR (particularly the second bedroom).

I've stayed at CP several times and never got a pool view, always the view towards the parking lot. I believe that renters (as opposed to the time share owners) are less likely to get the pool view. But good luck!

In our case (which as I said was at CPGV), we had 3 of the 2BR units. I called ahead of time and requested ground floor and that the units be close together (didn't know to request the pool side of the building). Two of our three units were on the pool side of the building, and we were renters. They seem to be very willing to accept requests.

I'm glad it worked out. Maybe being on the first floor helped, as well as how crowded the resort was at the time. Let us know what happens next time! Maybe I'll start requesting that pool view. :)

We'll keep our fingers crossed. Our stay was the week before (leading up to) Christmas, and the parking lots seemed to have a lot of cars there when we would come in at night. I know that it took awhile to get checked in when we first got there due to the line to check in, so I'm guessing that they had a pretty fair number of guests there. Hopefully, it will go that well next time too! :wizard:
