Who will be using Southwest's new early bird check in? I am torn. I don't know what to do. I've never flown SW before (this will probably be only time now) and I don't know if I should purchase or not. We're taking a 6:25pm flight home to BUF. Has anyone flown home in eve? Are these flights busy in your opinion? It's a Mon. eve. DH is very relaxed about it all and says not to worry. I can't help not worrying when I see the threads on these boards:lmao:

we dont plan on using either. If you are going off season, the flights will probably not even be booked so if you don't care where on the plane you sit, you will probably get together seats, and save the money

i wouldn't worry about it. if there are only 4 of you travelling i've noticed even in the upper C's there are seats left in the back. I'd do it if you know you won't be near a computer to check in. But even when i forgot to check in one time until about 10 hours before flight time, i was still in late B's, and that was a holiday season flight home.

I'm going to wing it for the upcoming trip...we're on a mid-week flight leaving at 7:45 a.m. and last year we were able to choose all kinds of seats. The flight was nowhere near full. I will check in at the 24-hour mark.

We went to Chicago in May and I would likely pay for EBCI for a trip like that because both ends of the trip were quite full and we had a problem on the return leg because I wasn't able to check in a the 24-hour mark.

We aren't because we have small children so we will board early. I might consider it when they are older. Not sure.

I just purchased ours- 7 total for $70. Not crazy about paying for this but we don't travel often and really wish to sit with our own family. We have 5 kids going ranging in ages from 6-17. For us the plane ride is part of the vacation and I wish to visit/talk with my kids/husband for the 2 1/2 hour ride.
I worry that many will just purchase for one person and then try and save seats for the rest of the group they are travelling with and that is not fair to the ones like me that did pay the $70 for all. I wish Southwest just left things alone or either that had assigned seats. We are travelling Jet Blue on our way down and love that we could pick our seats.....Southwest was cheaper for our way home so that is why we went with them.
