But why on earth would I need a Cricut? The ACM ad keeps luring me in and I keep walking away from it saying I do not need yet another tool that will collect dust in my craft room! (Will it end up next to my Sizzix??) (which I do like, but it's such a pain to get it ready for use).

Go ahead..let me have it...but be specific about why you like it and why on earth I would need one!

I LOVE my Cricut. It is so easy to use, it is so convenient and it cuts so quickly. Plus, you can do other things while it cuts. I have a Quikutz and it is too labor intensive- I never use it, my Cricut isnt- I use it everytime I scrap. I love everything about it!! There really isnt much set up to it. You pick your cartridge, turn it on, and cut!

I love my bug.. As aroyer mentioned.. you can type in what you need based on what the cartridges offers; click the size you want, and hit cut.. While it's cutting, I'm able to cut the photo mats, grab the embellishments, pull any pictures that I misplaced under a stack of other papers (which is usual for me).

I love the many features I can cut out with each cartridge.. I only have 5 carts but I find that is more than enough...
I will be honest.. I still use my sizzix and my sizzlet... not as often but for that little extra touch of something I need..

My dh likes the bug too.. he said the kids have had great looking poster board projects with this machine.. He said he never really liked the stencil lettering and the lettering the bug does is perfect.. My dd's first project after buying the bug was a Pi day poster...and the teacher loved it.. we have circles all over the board and "What is PI" title... it was great!!! We spent more time adhering than cutting things out!!! :)

oh this is so the perfect question for me to answer....

I have a sizzix
I have a quickutz

ALL I USE IS MY CRICUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It does everything! I love it! I love the sizes, I love the different styles...I have 6 cartridges & if I scrapbooked every day for months I don't think I could use all the options!!!!

I am planning on selling my quickutz on ebay to finance my addiction

the sizzix I'll keep for a bit...there's a few fonts Ihave that I really like

Jill, You NEED the Cricut. It is 1000 times easier then Sizzix. I LOVE my Cricut so much. Use it so much more then I thought I would. If you want to come over and play with mine you can. It would be fun to get together. The Disney cartridges are the best, I know you, you will love it too. Nancy (Morin's)

Cricut is not only great for scrapbooking, it is also great for school projects--especially last minute extra credit assignments! I used mine to decorate four Valentine boxes for my kids and it took minutes to do what would have taken me hours with a sizzix or by hand.

Not to be overly dramatic, but Cricut changed my life...ok, so maybe not my life, but it definitely changed the way I scrap! :goodvibes

I'm going to say pretty much what others have already said. I love that each cartridge is versatile with several different options to choose from. I love that it cuts all different sizes. I love that I don't really have to do anything other than load the mat then type in the phrase I want and press cut. Its really easy to set up. You don't have to sit and look for the diecut that you want to cut, you just press a button. And changing from one cartridge to another is easy. And like others have said, you can be working on something else while its cutting.

The best part about the Cricut though is the Mickey and Friends cartridge! :thumbsup2 This is such an amazing cartridge, with so many possibilities.

After using my cricut the first time I wondered how I ever scrapped without it! I love it for the versatility and its very easy to use. Plus the cartridges are so much easier to store/ use than all those dies. I don't think you'd be disappointed.

Another Cricut convert here. I love it because it is so easy. If I had to punch out a bunch of letters with my Sizzix half the time I'd say never-mind because it was just so much work to do it. The Cricut makes everything a breeze!

I hesitated for a long time because I thought I'd end up spending a fortune on cartridges but if you can just wait for sales you can get great prices - I never paid full price for any of them and I have 6, with 2 more on the way.

It won't collect dust on your shelf, that's for sure!

I'm a relative newbie to scrapping (well about a year) and I just ordered the Cricut after borrowing a friends for 5 days - what a difference it made! But, to be fair, I didn't have any type of die cutter at all - so for me to do titles, I either used stickers, alpha stacks or printed them out onto cardstock from my pc. With having her Cricut, I had so many possibilities and was so much more creative! One of my big hang ups was having to get all the cartridges, but so far, I've bought 4 and haven't spent more than $40 on any of them (including the mickey font and mickey & friends!! :cool1: ) Now that I know that it's possible to shop around for deals, I feel better about it.

I ordered mine online for $199 and it comes with 2 extra sets of mats (5 all together) 2 extra packs of blades, 2 different packs of Cricut cardstock, a spatula tool and a provo silent eyelet tool! :goodvibes I've been tracking it daily and know that it's sitting in a FedEx place a few towns away - it's killing me that it's so close, yet so far! :rotfl:

My biggest reason is the fact that I can change the font size. I love my sizzix and the fonts but I am limited in what I can do with them since it's a one size kind of thing. Same thing for the tags and such, if I want a 2 inch tag I can get it but if I want a 4 inch tag with the same look at the 2 inch I can do that too.

And time too. I' not cutting for hours like I do with the sizzix.

I totally agree. The choice of size and ease of use is great. I love being able to type all the letters i need at once, and then have it cut out. Great
