Tomorrow I can make my ADRs for our October trip. :thumbsup2

We've been lucky on a few previous trips and gotten an 8:05am ADR at CRT on a day that the MK opens at 9:00am. I loved walking down an empty Main Street and I enjoyed eating in the castle. I'd love to do that this year if I can get the 8:05am ADR.

My DD will be 13 on this trip and while she enjoys dining in the castle she really has no interest in interacting with the princesses (sad, I know!). So, here's my dumb question - Can we tell the host/hostess at the beginning of the meal that the princesses don't need to stop at our table. Is that totally stupid, rude & inappropriate?

TIA,
Debbie

Teacher always told me there's no such thing as a dumb question!

Hey, listen your DD13 may think she's too big for the princesses but once she's away from her friends & hanging out in Cindy's castle on a beautful morning having breakfast, she'll get into the disney spirit :thumbsup2

Our last trip we went to Chef Mickey's, DS11 at the time was pulling the same story acting all too outgrown for Mickey. Bless the woman who came in with her husband & 2 teen children. By golly she had her 6 foot son get up & pose by every character. My son was cracking up over how that boy wanted to make his mama happy. As a result, my son posed with every character & even let Minnie kiss his nose!

So by all means have the princesses stop by the table, if only for a quick picture. Or even have them pose with your husband, I'm sure he won't mind ;) It's good to enjoy yourself - you're going to be at Disney!!!!

I got the 8:05am CRT ADR!

And you know what, I think you both are right. We should just pose for the pictures. The first time we took DD to CRT she had just turned 3. This trip she will have just turned 13. How time flies.

And get this - last night when I told her I was making ADRs today she asked if we were still going to eat at Chef Mickey's on our first night. She still wants to eat there! I didn't know she still wanted to do that. So, if she wants to hang out with Mickey & friends I'm sure she'll be OK with the princesses. :)

I was just at WDW with my DH. We are both "around 30" and when I told him we were eating at character meals, he was less than thrilled. Well, Piglet was the first character to greet us at Crystal Palace, and after that, he was hooked! He got up and posed/smiled/interacted with every character we saw! Even waited 30 minutes to meet Buzz and Woody in Andy's Room. (DHS)

I say - you're never too old to interact with the characters! (PS - At the Grand Floridian a few years ago, I got a "posture lesson" from Mary Poppins... the interactions make great memories!)

Have fun planning!
