Ok, I have 3 hotels booked for aug. 7-9 trip!!!!

Hi everyone,
I have booked 3 hotels! The first is Fairfield Inn (159 per night) I am going to cancel this one since it doesn't get good reviews and it is farther away!! I booked the Tropicana for 139 per night. and yesterday I booked the Carousel Inn!! When I first called them (Wednesday) a guy quoted me 139 and with aaa discount it would be 120!! I didn't book it because he said they would charge my CC for 1 night. So, I called back and spoke to Jennifer and she quoted me 149 and aaa discount was in the 130's. I told her is was quoted the day before 120.00 per night aaa discount and she honored it, no questions asked!!! I am so excited!! I am going to cancel Tropicana!!

I checked Google earth and it looks like you have to cross a highway to get to DL, is that true? Is there some sort of crosswalk or something? They told me it is about a 4 -5 minute walk to the gate, is it an easy walk?

I've seen the CI when staying at other hotels on Harbor which is a city street...not a highway, and yes...it's nearly at the crosswalk to DL.

We're staying at the Best Western Park Place Inn & Mini-Suites which is right at the crosswalk. Double Queen with a Queen pullout couch We got a pretty good rate there and I love where it's located. ($107.00 per night -Entertaiment Book rate)

All 3 of the motels you mentioned are an easy walk from your room to the front gate.

ABOUT THE SAME WALK THAT WE HAD FROM THE BUS DROP AT WDW MK TO THE GATE AT MK.....without the bus ride or the stinkin bus ride line!!

You said the Fairfield had "bad reviews". I haven't seen that on here. Our opinion (& the consensus here) is that it's a good, clean motel a few steps from the others you mentioned. (& it's next to a McDonalds, which has it's advantages). FWIW.

All you have to do is cross a city street to get to DL. There's a crosswalk with a stoplight at the entrance to DL/DCA. You'll just walk to the intersection and go across with the light. Once you cross the street, it's a fairly short hike to the entrance plaza. You should be from your room to the gate in about 5 minutes.

I haven't checked prices THIS week, but last week Carousel was showing a $109 Internet-only rate for my dates (mid/late Sept). If you haven't checked their online reservations, you might do so before committing to a phone reservation! Same goes for all the sites (I think I had a 101 rate I was looking at with Tropicana).
