OK....I hate buffets,Your Opinion on Crystal Palace

Ok, I am having my arm twisted. My family wants to eat dinner at the Crystal Palace. We have ate at Boma,Hollywood and Vine, and 1900 Park Fare(really, really,awful!). Boma and Hollywood in Vine were OK to me. Can I get some opinions on Crystal Palace?

Wow, Hollywood and Vine is the one that normally gets awful reviews. Usually, I don't pay attention to the reviews, but they have always been so bad, that we haven't gone. Maybe we should try it anyway?

I don't like the food at Crystal Palace...at all. It is my least favorite buffet, though I haven't had breakfast there, yet. I love the atmosphere, just not the lunch/dinner food.

CP has a lot of fans, but I am not one of them. It is not terrible by any means, but I didn't find anything remarkable except for the noise level and the srvice. I've tried it 3x and just am not a big fan. Still, I'd eat there if someone else bought....

When the kids about 10 years ago, we did a late breakfast there and enjoyed it.
We went last year for dinner, just the two of us, it felt very loud and crowded, the food was nothing special for the price, and a few of the characters skipped right over us. Hey, grownups like character photos too!

Would not rush back again for supper but might consider it for breakfast.

Loved CP for early character breakfast. Food was very good, not too noisy, nice view, and we were first in line for the Adventure Land rope drop. We didn't have ADR, just approached guest services prior to park opening and they called to see if CP could accommodate two of us.

The first time we tried it, it was so-so. We were there at dinner. The food wasn't very good and people kept trying to jump into our time with the characters (not waiting their turn and coming up to our table when it was our turn). So that was frustrating.

The 2nd time I went with DD for lunch. The food seemed better and we enjoyed ourselves. No table jumpers - it just took forever for her to see Winnie the Pooh. We ended up in there for an hour and 45 minutes so she could see him.

I'm not a huge fan of buffets and probably won't go back to Crystal Palace for awhile.

Honestly, if you hate buffets I don't think there is anything at CP that will win you over. Unless you have a HUGE crush on Pooh and his friends.. - The food is ok...not terrible but nothing memorable.

I am not a buffet person either, however i really like Boma. That being said I really disliked the food at CP for dinner (breakfast is good).

I have to agree with you on PF being AWFUL! YUCK. However, we enjoyed CP not only for the characters but I thought the food was really good for buffet food. You can't always listen to everyone else's opinion so I say go and decide for yourself

we go every year to CP with or without the grandkids.....we love it and have even taken our college granddaughter there.....The food was pretty good and the fun we had ......one year we went with just adults and had a blast ...My favorite part of the buffet is the prime rib and the flank steak .. The Salmon with the topping is delicious too. They have a great salad bar and if you want to do the peel and eat shrimp that is good too. Our little granddaughter was even brought a pbj sandwich because she really didnt want to eat the meal part. SO she ate the sandwich and was very satisfied.

We did an early dinner (4:00 ish) there prior to a MVMCP Nov 09 and it was HORRIBLE! No new food on the buffet. It seemed like it was left over (crusty and hard) from lunch. My DM wants to go there and I have vetoed her. I will do 'Ohanas (my fav) over it in a hearbeat! 'Ohanas is not really buffet, more family style. Much better choice IMHO

If you are going for the characters, CP is a great restaurant. I think the food, however, is just average. There was nothing there I found that I thought was really good. We've gone for dinner twice, never for breakfast. It is my least favorite restaurant at Disney besides Boma (which I know everyone but me loves!). I say try it and if you don't like it, just don't go back.

We love it. It's a dinner must do for us. The salads are great!!! I ilke just about everything there and i think the selection is very good. Dessert selection is okay.

wow, i can agree with you about Boma, it's great! I actually thought the food at 1900 park fare was good, but the noise and crowd ruined it for me, CP is disgusting for lunch/dinner,It used to be very fresh and good, but not the last few years, definitly consistently bad, I can't comment about breakfast because we have never been, but i would definitly stay away from the other meals

Did not care for it. It's our least favorite character meal. Service was so-so. Food was average. Character interraction was the worst. The restaurant is very large and chaotic. It took FOREVER to see the characters. We even had to ask several times. The meal took 2 hrs. after waiting 30 min. past our ADR time. Never again. My daughter loves Pooh, but she doesn't want to go back. She'd rather wait in a long character line to see him.

Breakfast is good, in my opinion dinner was not so good. Dh liked it, i thought it was awful...

For the most part, my love of buffets ended years ago. Boma's dinner buffet is the only one I really like. I think their breakfast buffet is OK, but was slightly disappointed last time I went there. All of the other ones have been mediocre or worse, with H&V on my never-again list. The only buffet I'm going to on my next trip (next week...yay) is Tusker House for breakfast, but it's more about convenience than desire.

In general, I find buffet food to be compromised and concerns about hygiene (whether real or imagined) can make it an unpleasant experience for me.

We loved breakfast and lunch there. The lunch was fresh and the salmon is really good, especially for buffet fare. Breakfast is great if you can get there when it opens. My husband really liked Park Fare better for the breakfast and Pooh and Tigger are there too.

I found that the worst line skippers were the kids from South America because no explains to them that the characters will come to them. It was so bad at 'Ohana that the sent Mickey and Pluto back.

I went to Hollywood and Vine for an early dinner for a Fantasmic Dinner Package and THAT was some terrible food, IMHO.
