.. and I got an e-mail confirmation back that they received it. Do I need to call too?

I think I recently read a thread on here that people also call, but I'm not sure that it is necessary.
 
I'm sorry I don't have the answer to your question, but I do have a question for you.

How did you sign up for Diamond Lane? Do you have to be an owner or can anyone do it?

I am not an owner and I was able to sign up for the diamond lane. I did get a confirmation back from them, so I guess I am all set without making a phone call.
 

You do not need to make a call and you do not need to be an owner (you used to have years ago when DL first started). You can follow-up with a fax to the resort (to the attention of the Vistana Room Controller) maybe 2-3 days prior to check-in, but it's not necessary : Fax (407) 239-3111

How long ago did you send the request? I didn't get a confirmation for about 1-2 weeks!

It took about 1-2 weeks for me to get my confirmation too. Off to do some packing - we fly out at 8:00 a.m. tomorrow! :banana:

Because it's a timeshare (apartment style) they do "light cleaning" mid way through your week free of charge. The day varies dependeing on which day you checked in.

As for breakfast...only if you cook it.
