Hi,

I finally did it. I called and gave my details to set up our wedding. I have been avidly reading the posts on here and everyones wonderful weddings.

I will have a short time to plan but I am sure it is "doable". Don't have a date yet but if they have availablity it will be between 25 Jul and 6 Aug 2010, I gave them a range. If Disney doesn't work out I will be disapointed but I will then try for a Swan Dolphin wedding.

I am Judi and my DF is Steve. If you look at my Avatar I am on the far left and Steve is next to me. The others are my Sister Sharon, soon to be Step Son Dakota and my Niece Catherine.

Once I get my date I will start a planning journal as they have been so helpful, fun and informative to me.

Wish me luck in getting a date!

How exciting! Are you having an Escape or Wishes wedding?

I told them an Escape as the wedding will just be family 15 - 20 people, its hard for me to justify all that money. I am kinda of a minimalist - no nonsense person. I am also an old bride at 43 and this is not the first time for either of us. While I love the beautiful weddings I have seen on here some of it is just not me. I am a Disney Fan thru and thru though.

However with that said I do have a wish list - know I want to add to and upgrade the flowers, I want to provide my guests food and drinks, I really want to do a dessert party and I want to provide my guests transportation as we move around. I would also really like Mary Poppins and Bert to be the characters that visit us on the day as seeing a Chimney Sweep on your wedding day is good luck! I hope that is possible as its always a Jolly Holiday with Mary. So we will see how the costs increase

Still no call yet but I was only yesterday......

Bill from DFTW called me back and I am scheduled in for Disneys Wedding Pavillion at 2.30 pm on Tuesday 3 August 2010!

Now the real planning begins:cool1: :scared1:

Thats fantastic news! Congrats!:banana::banana::banana:

So pleased you have a date. Let the planning begin.:cool1:

Hi! Congrats!
I was an Escape bride and we did bunches of add-ons! It's totally doable and at the time even with the add-ons was still cheaper than a Wishes wedding (I think the mins. have changed for Wishes since our date however).

We upgraded and added on loads of flowers and decor, we did a dinner in a private room in Jiko, we did the DP like you mentioned, we had Mickey and Minnie, we upgraded to the Model A and used our package limo for the guests. We also added transportation to bring everyone back from dinner to the DP!

You will have a blast planning! This is the best place for any questions you may have, everyone here is very helpful! :goodvibes

Congrats on getting your date - it's a very exciting time, and you still have loads of time to plan your Escape wedding. My wedding is July 15th and I'm not scheduled with Rosie for my floral until the beginning of this month (and I booked my wedding at the 8 month mark) - so don't worry about being behind :thumbsup2

Wow - so exciting. Glad you got your date. Mary Poppins and Bert would be great - I don't know if I have ever seen Bert.

Can't wait to read more.

Linda
