We will be there in a week. DH and I have had one week of stress, and are expecting another this week. Work is really hectic right now for us both, and I feel like I am going to lose it! I am not feeling the magic and it makes me sad...

What are some tips to handle the busy work week prior to leaving for WDW? I am also going to be out of town T-Th this week helping another store so I will be away from DH. I am a big support system for him to handle his stress and I worry for him.

And me...I am just feeling the weight on my shoulders (and knees, and wrists, and everywhere else the arthritis feels like attacking).

Please help us fill our pixie dust quota!!! :) Thanks in advance!

I just remind myself that I will have a break from it all in X amount of days. That I can do whatever I need to do because very soon I won't have to worry about anything.

Well, the work you gotta handle like any other week. It still needs to get done. (sigh)

As for the stress and not feeling the magic..... well, it's the little things sometimes. Set up your suitcase on an extra bed and pack a little each night. Make Mickey shaped pancakes for dinner. When you see or phone each other, use your silly Magic voice to remind each other "Only 5 days left!" A silly moment each day can go a long way.

Just put your head down and push on through the work. It will be done and you'll be Mousing in no time. :flower:

Just do what my DW did to me. Don't make plans to go until the day before you go! My DW is a teacher and I've been asking for two months if she wanted to go to WDW over springbreak. The friday before springbreak while picking up DS from daycare she overheard a family talking about leaving for Florida. That's when Spring Fever bit her. When she got home she begged and begged to go. I told her to call and get rooms, which I didn't think she could. Next thing I know we're packing and heading for POR! :earseek: Wow, no stress leading up to vacation. We had a great room and were even able to get PS for every resturant we wanted except Cindy's, which you can't even get 90 days out.

Thank you all for the advice. I do really appreciate it.

On top of it all, I am not coming down with a cold! I know! It seems that everyone gets sick right before they head down, and I am just joining them now.

I guess it all revolves around the family as well. Not to sound like I am whining, but my father just got over the flu, my mother now has a virus that she can't shake (fever and major body aches), my DH is really having a bad week at work (one of his key-holders just turned in his 2 week notice and now DH doesn't have time to train someone new) and almost was not going to be able to go on vacation at all, and my sister is having problems with depression and college. Me being the person that I am, take in all their pain and it is hard. With me being away on business this week, I feel like I won't be there for any of them. Plus, how on earth can I justify thinking about WDW when all this is happening?!?

My work is very supportive (yes I work retail, but we are all family and we care for one another very much) which I love. They keep telling me the Disney Magic will come, but it seems so out of reach right now. I have been praying on this and seriously trying to keep the faith...but I just don't know.

Thank you again, and I would like to hear any other ideas to keep our spirits lifted. :wizard:

I wanted to thank you for sharing your lovely story! I am glad you had all that pixie dust sprinkled over you for your last-minute trip!

Also, I feel honored you posted to my thread seeing as you have only posted twice in 2 years! Thank you!

You don't need to. I'm another who takes on a lot of problems that aren't strictly mine, but if you don't take a break and take care of yourself, you'll burn out and be of no use to yourself or anyone else. Better to take a breather and be ready to come back and do what needs doing, *especially* if you're the type to add in everyone else's problems.

Whatever happens is what is supposed to happen. You staying home or not enjoying WDW while you are there won't solve anyone else's problems or make their lives easier. Really. :goodvibes

Go. Have fun. And if you start feeling guilty, picture a good friend giving you a gentle slap upside the head and telling you to get Mousey! :flower:
