Can an old pro please help me out... I am looking for a resort somewhere on property that can sleep 4 adults and 2 kids. So far, I believe Doubletree does. Are there any others? Or would we be better served staying at HIFS. I have learned so much that I got stupid...can't remember what I've learned anymore.

This is a really tough choice for those of us with families larger than 4. Your options generally are larger spaces off-site, choosing a cabin at FW, renting points for a 2 bedroom DVC, or booking 2 rooms onsite generally at a value resort.

My family of 5 does well in a cabin, and we love FW, but the sleepers have to share a double bed in the bedroom with two bunks, and there's a double fold-down Murphy bed in the living room for two others. I usually recommend loop 2100 since it backs up to regular camping loop 1100 with its comfort station and laundry in case there are any bathroom challenges.

At the DTD GuestQuarters, you have the option of enights (if there ever are anymore), but not EMH.

The DVC properties are lovely, but at $10/point it's not always economical. You can check the rent/trade board here to get an idea of points needed at the time of year you plan to visit.

Dgaston covered it nicely! :)

The only thing he forgot to mention is that you can book a DVC resort without renting points. You can do it direct through Disney, but it'll cost you an arm and a leg.

If I were you, I'd stay at the Doubletree. I LOVE them! The welcome cookies are the best, and I've had nothing but pleasant experiences with them.

Thanks for the advice guys. I had forgotten about the Fort Wilderness cabins entirely. Doubletree keeps staring me in the face, but I have read some bad reviews on tripadvisor.com that have scared me. Its nice to read something good about it. I really want to be on property to take advantage of the transportation so we don't have to rent a car.
