Its that time of year for our fav cookies. How many boxes of cookies do you buy? Are they for you or someone else. I like Thin Mints and this year I will buy two boxes. Last year we bought 30.00 worth thank goodness it was for some of our customers. Glad they only come out once a year. :rolleyes1 Jo

only 2 but I'm on WW... so they are going in the freezer (best way to eat them) (thin mints I mean)

BUT... I have a friend in Canada who smuggled in a box of their mint cookies and they are really good!!! (can't be ordered across borders)

My next door neighbor is a troop leader. We spend $20 so 5 boxes, and I have the girl scouts take them directly to a state funded nursing home. The girls get the sale, they to do an activity, the old people get to see the kids and get cookies, and I can still zip my pants--an all around win.

Normally when the cookies come in I will steal one or two cookies from an opened box at the neighbors house--that is my limit.

My dd is a girl scout so i bought 10 boxes, they go in the freezer

Initially 3 boxes - then 1 more the other day - DH and I split the 3 boxes together - and the last box I ate all by myself...:rolleyes1

I bought 6. :headache: I got 3 of the peanut butter patties, 2 thin mints, and 1 of the peanut butter sandwiches.

I would love to buy some! I havent seen any while out yet and our neighborhood doesnt have any little girls selling any.:sad1:

Thin mints is what I'm after.:thumbsup2

we bought 10 boxes this year, and I had to hide them so the boys and dh wouldnt eat them all

our DD is a girl scout so we bought about a dozen. I opened a few different kinds when we had family over so that helped get rid of some. 4 boxes of thin mints are in the freezer. DH took a few to the office to share. And we have a teenage son so he and his friends help get rid of them for us

Unless the girls across the street come over, my answer is zero. I have bought too many GS cookies and ended up devouring them all myself. Besides, Keebler makes a peanut butter pattie that is very close to the GS ones.

I have no idea how many I'm up to. This year was payback. My DD has been selling for years to my co-workers. Guess who had to finally pay the piper? And I did it gladly. I always knew it would be my turn soon.

I'm not buying but I will be buying the Edy's special edition ice cream using GS cookies ;)

This is the first year that dd hasn't been in GS, and through the years I have thought that the cookies have changed in taste and they aren't as good as they used to be. They have similiar cookies in the store that I can get year round (and cheaper) so no more GS cookies for us.

I think 14 boxes  But in my defense I bought from my usual neighborhood girl and then a good friend told me her daughter was selling this year (which I didn't know she was in GS) and I felt bad so I bought from her too.

I LOVE GS cookies and I am REALLY good about freezing them and keeping them all year long, I actually still have one more box in my cabinet from last year :rotfl:

Do they sell the cookies two times a year now? I could have sworn our neighbor hit us up in the fall (we bought 2 boxes, but if she comes around again, I'll probably pass b/c I thought they were just so-so).

Not loving them lately. The recipes have changed - the lemon ones used to be delicious- but now- eh with an aftertaste.
Is there any "new" cookie this year. We did like the dulce de leche ones last year.

So far no girl scouts coming around here. I don't know if it hasn't started or if someone said "no selling in neighborhoods". Last year we had 5 girls come to the door and I bought 2 boxes from each.

This year I am hoping to buy NONE. But if someone comes knocking I'll buy.

Different councils sell at different times.

Hmm ... our counsil in Wisconsin aready sold cookies back in October. I think it's a better time than early Spring when everyone is on a diet :lmao:.

My faves are the Samoas and Thin Mints (especially the Samoas- Mmmmmmm). I think I bought 2 boxes of each this year and DH bought a box of Dos-si-dos.

If I could, I'd buy more than 2 boxes of Samoas. But I have to control myself, even though they are soooo irresistable!
