Our season has officially started!! (We did have nonmandatory practice all summer!!
How long does your season go?? Ours goes till April. (our last competition is April but then May we will have awards banquet ect....)
Did you guys have to buy new uniforms this year?? We did, but Im glad I was not really loving the old ones.:teeth:

Well good luck this year to all the Dis cheerleaders!!!!!:cheer2: :cheer2:
I know Im excited about this year!!!

keep me updated on your competitions!!
Maybe Ill run into one of you at a competition!!!!

Oh yea we had a stunt clinic this weekend that I took my daughter and walked out of as the instructer was a idiot and told the holders if my daughter didn't go up right to just let her hit the ground two of the girls ended up getting hurt!

We are new to this...my DD started a few weeks ago...she is 9. She loves it so far!

DD Brittany just started her second year of rocket football cheerleading. No competitions yet, but we do have games (haven't started those yet though). I am sure this is the start of a very long cheerleading career (plus Destiny and Selena want to start as soon as they are old enough).

I don't know what costs are involved higher up. We had a $40 registration, then we had to buy shoes and cheerleading undies  and soon will be pictures. Fortunately we don't have to pay to attend games at this stage!!

WHAT?? THat is crazy!! It takes a whole stunt group to get a stunt right not just the flyer or the bases!!!! I dont blame you I would of walked out also!

Oh yes once they start it is hard to get them to get out of it!!
Competition cheering is very expensive. WE will pay a little over 2,000 this season (with hotels ect...) But it is a long season.
actually I was reading something this weekend about baseball and it is really expensive also. Im not sure how parents who have more then one child can afford these kind of travel sports!!

Almost time to pack for that anniversary and BD trip to WDW, Tink!!!!

Yes I know!!! :bounce: :teeth:
It had to be made shorter then originally planned but I guess a short trip to Disney is better then no trip!!!! :teeth:
This will be one of the last "family" trips this year I think the rest will all be cheer related!! (We are going to one at the Swan an dDlolphin So that is pretty cool!!!)

my dd started her first year of cheerleading on Aug 3rd. 3 days a week, 2 hours a day. she is not quite 8.
well, on thursday aug 12, a girl plowed into her (the girl was not watching where she was going) and knocked my dd to the ground where she broke her wrist. lovely. since it was 8 at night we spent forever in the hospital, etc.
games start on september 12 and only run until the end of october/early november but she still has to go to practice and sit there as they will not let her do anything. but, she still has to learn the cheers as she will have her cast off just in time for her first game.
I didn't realize it was this strict for 7 year olds. she even has late practice on the night before school (tomorrow) but either way she still loves it. I am helping her learn the cheers at home so she will know them!!::

my older dd is a high school j.v. cheerleader, she will be a flyer. school doesn't start until sept 7, but they've had practices all summer (she was at camp so didn't go) and they'r e doing a one-week cheer camp this week -- all but two squad members are at the camp, which is being held at a gym that does private competitive cheerleading. our varisty and j.v. squads cheer for football and basketball, and there's the competition squad in the spring.

younger dd tried competitive cheerleading but didn't like the gym she was going to and stopped. she's on the middle school squad -- they do cheer, dance and tumbling, but no stunts. she's more interested in dance these days, wants to be on the dance team when she gets to the high school.

Oh yeah you have to believe in the gym you are going to.
You must stay very busy with your girls!!!! Enjoy!!! :)
